In Week 17, in order to ensure a Sunday night game with playoff implications, the decision to move the start time may be made on six days notice.

I suppose we might still make it, but I still think Cincy vs Pitt is more likely as that game may be a de facto playoff game for one or both teams (ie win & you're in, lose & you're out).

Guys, if you go to NFL Schedules there is no Thursday night game, Sunday night game, or Monday Night Game. This week is it with the Saturday and Sunday schedules.

If memory serves, I think it was this way last year. It's too bad as it would have been nice after Christmas dinner to have a good Thursday night match up.

You're 100% correct. All week 17 games will be contested on Sunday afternoon: http://www.nfl.com/s...ules/2014/REG17 There is nothing to flex.

Odds of flex (in my opinion):

Detroit/Green Bay (50%)

Pitt/Cinci (30%)

Buffalo/Pats* (15%) -- but only if KC and SD lose this weekend and the Bills win

Carolina/Atlanta (5%) -- will be game for NFC South title if Atlanta beats NO this week and Panthers beat Browns

Either I've lost my ability to read, or you missed the "flexible scheduling procedures" link that describes how they make the W17 determination.

Look at the schedule and you'll see there is no Sunday Night Game. The latest games will begin at 4:25 PM EST in week 17. Again, there's no game to flex.

Edit: http://www.nbcsports...all-schedule It does say TBA for week 17, so you are correct after all.

Yes, there is no game currently scheduled...but read the link.

From that link,

  • In effect during Weeks 5-17
  • Up to 2 games may be flexed into Sunday Night between Weeks 5-10
  • Only Sunday afternoon games are subject to being moved into the Sunday night window.
  • The game that has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday night during flex weeks will be listed at 8:15 p.m. ET.
  • The majority of games on Sundays will be listed at 1:00 p.m. ET during flex weeks except for games played in Pacific or Mountain Time zones which will be listed at 4:05 or 4:15 p.m. ET.
  • No impact on Thursday, Saturday or Monday night games.
  • The NFL will decide (after consultation with CBS, FOX, NBC) and announce as early as possible the game being played at 8:15 p.m. ET. The announcement will come no later than 12 days prior to the game. The NFL may also announce games moving to 4:05 p.m. ET and 4:15 p.m. ET.
  • Week 17 start time changes could be decided on 6 days notice to ensure a game with playoff implications.
  • The NBC Sunday night time slot in "flex" weeks will list the game that has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday night.
  • Fans and ticket holders must be aware that NFL games in flex weeks are subject to change 12 days in advance (6 days in Week 17) and should plan accordingly.
  • NFL schedules all games.

If we beat OAK, DEN beats CIN, SF beats SD, PIT beats KC, I think a very strong chance. Cause this then sets up the BUF vs NE game to be win and in, as long as PIT can take care of business week 17 vs CIN at home.

Nah, if Detroit at Green Bay is for the NFC North, which is likely, no way they pass on a game like that from Lambeau.

Not possible because there is no SNF game that week.

^ this

4:30 games

Arizona at San Francisco

St. Louis at Seattle

Oakland at Denver

Maybe CBS would flex to 4:30 and air the game but that's about it
