YoloinOhio Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 @ProFootballTalk: Geno Smith: I've shown flashes of being a Pro Bowl quarterback http://t.co/Yj49HSJAqc
BringBackFergy Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 If anything, the Geno Smiff experiment proves one thing: Todd McShay and Kiper would be better off evaluating talent on The Voice.
MarkAF43 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 and with that Geno has now put himself on every "random" drug test the NFL has to offer.
Cynical Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Well, in his defense, he can throw a mean interception just as good, or better, than other HOF QBs.
Dorkington Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 He isn't wrong. He's had a handful of really good games. But he's had way more bad games.
MarkAF43 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 He isn't wrong. He's had a handful of really good games. But he's had way more bad games. But that's like Orton or EJ or Fitz, or Derek Carr saying it too. Most QB's have shown flashes at some point, it doesn't mean they should say it out loud to anyone. The good ones let their body of work speak for themselves.
YoloinOhio Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 He isn't wrong. He's had a handful of really good games. But he's had way more bad games. I can only think of one "really good" game. Atlanta last year.
Mango Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 @ProFootballTalk: Geno Smith: I've shown flashes of being a Pro Bowl quarterback http://t.co/Yj49HSJAqc my jaw is on the floor
aristocrat Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 he does make one really nice throw once in a while but in between he's barely a high school qb
YoloinOhio Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 he does make one really nice throw once in a while but in between he's barely a high school qb Agreed, but usually the throw is to the other team. But it is a nice spiral.
Jauronimo Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Maybe he does have the mental strength to succeed. Good for him.
Hot Buffalo Wings Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I can only think of one "really good" game. Atlanta last year. He actually played really well against the Pats this year.
rfk Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) he seems to be the mirror image of EJ a few good plays/games here and there but would you bet the farm that either will be winners in the NFL...nope i suspect both will bounce around the league for a few years and then be selling insurance. No.
Captain Hindsight Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I'd be surprised if Geno is on a roster next year
RuntheDamnBall Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 You guys, this is totally out of context. The missing part of the quote is "If all the other quarterbacks were dead, one could say I will have shown flashes of being a Pro Bowl quarterback."
billsfan28277 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Only in games where he is facing Justin Rodgers.
Kelly the Dog Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Actually Geno is absolutely right. He has shown flashes. Like three of them. And it's a very good analogy if you equate Geno's flashes as quarter-second bright flares of light from your cell phone compared to the ongoing Klieg Lights of good quarterbacks and Bat Signal of guys like Aaron Rodgers.
chris heff Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Was it just me or does anyone else think that Rex was sending a message in the Dolphins game? He refused to let Smith pass. It was like saying that Smith is not his guy, never was.
