Big Turk Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 (edited) Bills had a pretty historic performance against Manning today and it still wasn't enough. Manning's 51 game streak of at least 1 TD was broken. Manning was Intercepted twice. Manning was held to his lowest yardage total since November of last year against the Patriots Manning was held to his worst passer rating since November 2008!! in a game against Cleveland. Denver gained a total of 306 yards, lowest total since their December game against San Diego last year. Didn't matter. Bills can't put points on the board with any regularity and when they set themselves up in position to put points on the board or were moving the ball they shot themselves in the foot. Missed 4th down pass on the 2nd possession when they were borderline FG range(likely not due to Carpenter's groin), which could have EASILY been called PI on their player as he simply stuck his arm up in Chandler's face without ever turning around for the ball. Chandler should have just stopped and let him run into him and it was a slam dunk PI call. Even as it played out it would have drew the flag if it was Rodgers, Manning or Brady throwing that ball against us. Both long INT returns were called back on penalties, which would have given us the ball both times within field goal range. Watkins fumbles the ball in Bronco territory on the first series of the game. 2 phantom penalties again in crucial 3rd down situations given to our opponents. The complete BS holding call against Robey setting up a TD, instead of forcing a FG. The equally BS PI call against Gilmore just because he legally "blew up" Sanders and Sanders was rolling around on the ground hurt from the perfectly timed and legal hit, setting up a TD instead of forcing a punt. Bills seemingly are determined to make it as difficult as possible on themselves to win games...very frustrating as it happens each week to some degree... Edited December 8, 2014 by matter2003
Big C Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Orton didn't turn it on til way too late. We managed time poorly. We should have won.
Georgia Bill Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Orton didn't turn it on til way too late. We managed time poorly. We should have won. Perhaps he was only successful late in the game because Denver thought the game was out of reach and had dialed back their pressure. Would have made it interesting if we had managed to get the onside kick
Captain Hindsight Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 KO is terrible. 3rd and 1 and he slides two yards behind the line of scrimmage? Playing the best QB in the NFL and you don't dive for that? Playing for the post season? Nice of him to get a few garbage TDs and Yards tho
Optometric Insight Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 The defense didn't get any sacks though, so their performance apparently doesn't count.

Would have made it interesting if we had managed to get the onside kick Perhaps, but I do recall him throwing a redzone INT much earlier in the game too. I don't think they dialed back on that last drive. The game was certainly still in our reach. Plus, we were controlling the time of possession and moving the ball effectively most of the first half. Orton threw away our chance of pulling even.
Charles Romes Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Maybe if the refs didn't turn 2 great 3rd down passes defensed into red zone first downs it would have been historic

They didn't show them on the replay and they seemed questionable. 76 total yards lost on those penalties.
KollegeStudnet Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Come with the season ending, there will be some quality OC's looking for jobs. Hacketf must go, if Marrone goes, so be it!

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Terrific performance by the D. I don't even think you would put Denver's defense in our same category; our defense is like a stratosphere above them.
Wing Man Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 The offense didn't apply much pressure on Manning. Never-the-less, it was a great performance by a defense hamstrung by fist pumping refs. Imagine what would have happened if the game hadn't been fixed.

How can you not show the replay on penalties that are that big? Not once, but twice. You know they have the footage, as they cover every angle in the game. Makes me wonder whether they intentionally don't show BS calls, so as not to generate further undue attention.

Imagine what would have happened if the game hadn't been fixed. He's not stupid, the plan was to get rid of the ball quickly and try to establish the run game. They did that well enough. This^^^^^. Momentum gone, back to grind it out, no gimmies for Buffalo today.

Wing Man Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 The CBS cameras must have been pointed at the stands during the game because you may have seen part of a half of one angle for every five penalties we received.
rockpile Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Did anybody see the penalties called on the INT returns? They didn't show them on the replay and they seemed questionable. 76 total yards lost on those penalties. On one play they just called the penalty on the "receiving team". Did they all do something? KO is terrible. 3rd and 1 and he slides two yards behind the line of scrimmage? Playing the best QB in the NFL and you don't dive for that? Playing for the post season? Nice of him to get a few garbage TDs and Yards tho We were screaming when he did this! He had the first down by just letting his momentum carry him forward instead of sitting down. That was a gutless play.
ganesh Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 The defense didn't get any sacks though, so their performance apparently doesn't count. And they did allow the Broncos to run the ball effectively; 130 yards of rushing and 3 Rushing TDs were enough for the day.

The Bills d was very good. Even the run D. They had a 47 yard run on a terrible play by one guy, that skewed those stats. The three TDs were 1-2 yard runs.
