TSOL
Maybe so, but id bet Rex looks at himself as "born to coach"
Mike in Horseheads
I think you have to "toe" the line carefully with Rex....
Saxum
Also a GM would be an idiot to hire Scwartz as HC...he has reached his level of competence  Some said same thing about Belicheat after he was canned.
BmarvB
If Schwartz leaves, then by all means bring in Rex as DC. So far, Marrone is 2 for 2 at bringing in good DC's
rumblefish
Rex Ryan becoming a coach for the Bills in any capacity is like putting a elevator in a out house, it just doesn't fit

atlbillsfan1975
I agree with this. in the end, I don't think either will be an NFL head coach next season. Wouldn't surprise me if Rex does a year on TV. I don't think he does good in formal situations. Great entertainer at press conferences, but seemed a little stiff when he did some studio work. Augie
Isn't it great to have multiple internal options people feel good about? How's that for a change? (Do any know about offense? Ugh.)

reddogblitz
What if you need to rise above the fumes? Â Sounds like just what the doctor ordered. Â GREAT post by the way.
GunnerBill
Donnie Henderson is much more ready and better suited for DC. If he doesn't move up with us soon he will go somewhere else and begin his DC career. Â It won't be beginning his DC career, he has done it twice before at the Jets and Detroit without any significant success.... however, he might be putting himself back in that conversation for teams given his performance with our defensive backs. Â As for Schwartz.... if the GM survives and Mike Smith doesn't I will have money on Schwartz ending up in Atlanta.

nucci
Yes rex has a great record of hiring awesome coordinators, especially on the offensive side. You think Tony Sparono will be available? or Marty Mornhinweg?
aristocrat
I don't think schwartz gets a look for another year or two. Besides, tpegs can offer him better money or maybe even a head coach in waiting deal. But this is assuming marrone comes back. The only way I see marrone coming back is if hackett gets the boot. Our offense needs a complete change.
machine gun kelly
I don't see Schwartz getting a HC job nor Rex this upcoming year. Rex with his personality will get scooped up by one of the networks, and will probably be very funny and informative. In a year, he'll come back from someone. 6-7 openings almost every year.
