reddogblitz Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 smoke and mirrors, ranking really mean squat, committee is only looking at the bottom line best match up to generate the most $$$$$$,i's all about the GREEN I agree with the fish. This whole "committee" thing is just BS and another college football beauty contest. If they really wanted to have a playoff to find out whose the best team they wouldn't do it like this. How about putting all teams into conferences and the conference champs go to a 16 team playoff or so and play it down? Nah. Quote
YoloinOhio Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) Yes, but I bet they won all their out of conference games against East Alabama A&M, Georgia State and Northeast Florida Bible College. Now the ESPN bullsh-- is all about the SEC West and oh isn't it amazing when you ignore all the crappy teams in the conference!! preach. If Bama gives up 600 yds to auburn like last week, the offenses are unstoppable in the SEC! Nothing wrong with the defense! If Bama beats LSU 9-6, the defenses are smothering in the SEC! Nothing wrong with the offense! If Vandy beats UGA - look at the depth in this conference, wow! They just beat each other up each week! Crap winless in the Big 10 IU beat Missouri on the road this season. Missouri plays for the SEC championship tomorrow. Crickets. Edited December 5, 2014 by YoloinOhio Quote
papazoid Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Oregon guaranteed themselves a spot with a 51-13 win over #7 ranked Arizona last night. WOW on marcus mariota 5 TD's (2 pass, 3 run) Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Carges College Primer: Championship Saturday Pete Carges - WGR Well here we go, after 3 months of actual on the field football, and a month and a half of old guys in suits putting out meaningless rankings, we are FINALLY at the end of a wild college football season. The outcome seems simple enough, if the four teams that are in right now all win, then the rankings are set and we skip happily into a New Years Day playoff. But if just one team loses, or (gasp) Missouri wins the SEC Championship, we are in for Armageddon and those whispers that the BCS was a better system will become shouts over the next month. While Alabama and Oregon sitting fairly firm at numbers 1 and 2, there is certainly a case for Florida State and ALL the one-lossers to fill out the remainder of the bracket. But I'm not going lay out each scenario, because there is a lot of football to be played this weekend, and if we've learned anything this year, it's that no such thing is a sure thing. One thing IS for certain though, and that is the ride will be entertaining, and it starts tonight. Quote
Ohiostyle Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 I just don't see anyway Bama, or FSU lose. Leaving the B1G championship as the only real wildcard today. If OSU wins, the only real argument against them is that they are on their 3rd qb. Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 @FiveThirtyEight Oregon is, at least temporarily, the favorite to be this year's college football champs. http://53eig.ht/1BoeX2Y Quote

BuffOrange Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I don't know why the TCU thing is so hard to grasp. They have the best loss by far, didn't lose to WV by two TDs. Va Tech at home, gmafb. Quote
YoloinOhio Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 WE BEAT A TOP 15 TEAM IN THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME BY 59 POINTS WITH OUR 3RD STRING QB. BuffOrange Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 RECENCY BIAS. What about Michigan, Penn St & Indiana all of whom have garbage offenses. Quote

They just rolled up 52 pts on the 2nd ranked D in the country and shut down the best RB in the country. No one cares about TCU. Edited December 7, 2014 by YoloinOhio Quote
YoloinOhio Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 all comes down to Bucks run defense. Offense will score. aaaand they did. Ohio State led Wisconsin 38-0 at halftime, the most points Wisconsin had allowed in a GAME in the last three seasons. 59-0 on the #2 defense in the nation with your 3rd string QB. Ok! Quote

Cleveland Rocks? Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Does WI stand to win w/ $$$ even in the face of losing big? Of course. Of course they laid down! Or - Ohio State has elite coaches and players who play their best in big games and are peaking at the right time. Which you seem unwilling to admit. Quote
ExiledInIllinois Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Or - Ohio State has elite coaches and players who play their best in big games and are peaking at the right time. Which you seem unwilling to admit. 1% chance it is on the up and up and up... 99% chance WI "fell on the sword" for their school and The Big Ten after being down big. Or there is another scandel brewing and The Big Ten, WI and NCAA are in cahoots... Once a criminal always criminal. OSU followed by PSU are the Conference ring leaders. It behooves The NCAA to bring back OSU from a money standpoint... Watch, same thing will happen in Happy Valley. :-O Can you say the whole system is rigged even worse no... Bring in the black helos! ;-P Quote
