Buffalo Barbarian
of course they should sit him, don't want to get your franchise QB knocked out for the season.
judman
Every time they get near him, flags will fly. I hate to say it. I have seen too many 'rough' teams flagged for what used to be good football in this Goodell era.

Deranged Rhino
If the Donkeys go up by 31 and Fox puts Manning back in, I hope Schwartz summons is inner Greggo and puts a bounty on Manning's head. Literally, his head. (edit: I thought this was the 4th quarter, I saw it's the 3rd... so I'll amend my statement to only if it happens when the game's no longer in doubt) Edited December 6, 2014 by GreggyT
thewildrabbit
I don't think Manning would allow it. And it's not like it'll be tough to protect him. Keep extra blockers back, run the ball, don't let him get hit. It's not like they'll need to put up 30 points to win the game, and they've got the third ranked defense going against an offense that's in the bottom third of the league in every category. He wouldn't, and is probably really looking forward to the challenge. Manning gets the ball out to his receivers in 2.2 seconds, which is fastest in the NFL. Going to be tough to get to Manning with just the front four. I'm not worried about the Bills defense per se, as I'm more concerned about the Bills going 3 downs, and out all game so the defense is worn out by the fourth quarter. Denver is the #3 team in the NFL in total defense, and Buffalo is #5. The Bills are #1 in sacks, and Denver is #5.
Kelly the Dog
Denver is the #3 team in the NFL in total defense, and Buffalo is #5. The Bills are #1 in sacks, and Denver is #5. As you know, Denver's defense benefits tremendously from their offense controlling the ball, scoring a ton so the other team is one dimensional, and not turning it over a lot. If you swapped defenses on these two teams, even though the Broncos have some very good players, I think the Bills would be #1 overall and Denver's more like 10. And the bills defense suffers from its own offense sucking.
3rdand12
That would work for me. I figure Robey with safety help has a better shot of staying with Sanders than Graham but either one can get the job done. DT is the best receiver on their roster but Sanders has been the engine. I see N. Robey on E. Sanders. Good post about Manning's safety. Of course they cannot sit him. But Fox surely will game plan to keep him upright. I expect a run first game from them. and Schwartz to try to rush four keep everything in front of them for the dink dunks. But he should be trying to mess Mannings great ability to read and adjust at the line with our secondary. communication will be key back there. But seem these guys are really coming together lately with that aspect imo In the words of Jim Malone,"You want to get the Bronco's ? Here is how you get them. They pull a knife, you pull a gun. They send one of yours to the hospital, you send one of theirs to the morgue. That's the Buffalo way, and that's how you get the Broncos" Who is Jim Malone. I want to meet this guy and shake his hand !

3rdand12
Shouldn't he match up with Welker in the slot? dont get smart 26 !It was an "in theory hypothetcial" the physical match up might be better served. Graham vet savvy surely should come into play Sunday . Stephon might be targeted more often than Graham. One of the subjects here is my favorite . Buffalos Defense is a legitimate force. to be feared possibly Gosh I enjoy that feeling again. I mean is not excited for this game. Just to see how Manning fairs against Schwartzies Boys. As good as Ware and Miller are, I'd rather have Mario and Hughes. Their LBs are suspect but their secondary is pretty fantastic. All in all, the Denver D was built to protect leads in January. The Bills Defense was built to win games.
benderbender
Omaha....Omaha It wouldn't surprise me to find out that Manning has a deal with the Nebraska Division of Travel and Tourism to promote Omaha

And the bills defense suffers from its own offense sucking. I agree with the bolded, as the Bills offense hasn't been able to control the clock or stay on the field either this year or last year. Last season at least they had a semblance of a run game. To his credit I think Schwartz has done a remarkable job in allowing less first downs, and put his opponents in third and long far more then Pettine ever did. However, Denver has such a quick strike offense that scores a ton of points, and its rare their drives last more then three minutes because they score so quickly. The Denver defense is on the field as much as the Bills only for different reasons. After losing to St Louis with Peyton throwing 54 passes for 368 yards vs only 10 attempts rushing in a 7-22 loss, and watching Manning not have a very good day. The Denver OC changed up the offense in favor of more quick, short pass along with a whole lot more running the ball. What I find interesting is the Denver offense was having the exact same problem as the Bills are having with weak players at the OG positions, and they couldn't get any push in the run game. The coaches figured out that by changing up blocking schemes they were able to get stronger in the middle, and hence have been very strong running the ball the late two games against both Miami, Kansas City. The Dolphins did have a top run defense until the broncos ripped them for 35 rushes, 201 yards, one TD. Against Miami CJ Anderson 167 yards on 27 rushes, one TD. The Chiefs also had a good run defense until the played Denver, and then CJ Anderson had 32 attempts, 168 yards rushing. Manning only throwing 34 passes, against KC, 35 passes against Miami with a lot of dinking and dunking the last two games. Thus nullifying both teams pass rushes on Manning, as he was only sacked once each game. The Rams got him 3x times. Now with a much stronger run game Denver is a serious contender to win the SB this season IMO. John Elway didn't win one until he had Terrell Davis pounding the rock. CJ Anderson!! Kinda why I think Buffalo will lose, and lose big. Especially if they come out throwing like they have since the Chargers game.
