HOUSE Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) The Saints are 5-7 and many here believe heading for a rebuilding project. There has been a lot of rumbling about dealing Brees (35) away and drafting a new Quarterback in 2015. Most of the rumors are media generated but there might be some truth here.... I have noticed a decline in his play this year but he would still be a huge upgrade in Buffalo. Simple question, should the Bills be interested ? I don't care what Drew Brees says..........I believe the trade rumors are TRUE and his value is still pretty high http://www.nfl.com/n...ant-to-draft-qb Edited December 2, 2014 by HOUSE
FluffHead Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 im gonna ignore the reality that it won't happen and just say git r dun
johnwalter Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 i assume you know that the saints trading brees will not happen for the next 4 years
Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Sounds like he might be up for trade http://www.nfl.com/n...ant-to-draft-qb do it!

Fan in Chicago Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) Sounds like he might be up for trade http://www.nfl.com/n...ant-to-draft-qb You forgot to mention that the article talks about Brees being traded sometime in the future. The article is more about the Saints drafting a possible successor in the upcoming draft. Hence, the premise of your post is not correct (that he may be available in the coming offseason). "On Sunday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Saints will look to select a rookie quarterback in the 2015 draft as they prepare for the eventual day when Drew Brees steps away from football." GunnerBill Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 That isn';t what the article said. But if Brees became available there would be a scrum of teams like the Bills who feel as though they are "on the brink" who would be interested.
The Big Cat Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 In this scenario Drew Brees is the hunky all-star QB (obviously), and we're the mousy, yet unconquered nerd-chick who gets real hot once those glasses come off and that hair comes down. I'm fine with that. Brees is not very good in bad weather We've played 12 games this year. Zero in bad weather. Of the remaining four, one will be in California.
thebandit27 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Where is this speculation that they want to deal Brees? All I read in the OP's linked article was this: "On Sunday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Saints will look to select a rookie quarterback in the 2015 draft as they prepare for the eventual day when Drew Brees steps away from football." They are NOT going to trade Brees.
CardinalScotts Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 he's a dome guy who struggles out doors even worse in the cold can't help but ask what would he do without graham 5-7 and that division is pathetic used to throwing it 50 times a game what if he's asked to throw it closer to 30-35 arm strength is on the decline quickly he will be 36 in January if he's getting hit he's terrible and makes over 20 million no i wouldnt take him

Even if Brees were available, some fans wouldn't want him.
rumblefish Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 wouldn't getting Brees, be repeating the same mistake that was made when the Bills, got a used up Deadsole as for Gronk, love to have him, but Bills can't afford him
thebandit27 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 wouldn't getting Brees, be repeating the same mistake that was made when the Bills, got a used up Deadsole No, not the same. One guy is a Superbowl winning QB who happens to be the most accurate QB in NFL history and has a career QB rating in the mid 90s, the other was a career 57% passer that never won a Superbowl, took too many sacks, and had a career QB rating in the high 70s.
QB Bills Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Drew Brees sucks! Guy can't play in cold weather. Peyton Manning is good unless the game matters. Total choker. Tom Brady? Nothing without Bill Belichick and videotape. Aaron Rodgers has only one Super Bowl appearance. Overrated. Ben Roethlisberger? Too fat. Will probably contract diabetes soon...not worth the money.

K-9 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I'd take Brees in a heartbeat.... IF he wasn't such a douche nozzle. As great as he is (and he'll be a 1st ballot HOFer), I don't want him in Buffalo. Although it would be fun to observe him and Joe D at team functions. GO BILLS!!!
NoSaint Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) Since the bye week brees is: 194/271 (71.6%) for 2,174 yards. 18 TDs, 5 ints QB Rating of 109.6 and leading the league in deep passing stats has had 2 games over 95 total QBR and only 1 below 60 (59.2) i think reports of his demise are exaggerated due to the bad record. its been a strange season for that team. What is it about him that you take exception to? Kirby Jackson who lives in the NO area also made some vague comments about his character. He wasn't explicit but the tenor of his comment was critical. I got the impression that his public persona doesn't match his private persona. I suspect that Joe D doesn't have much affection for the current players who forgot the contribution of of their predessors when they signed their labor agreement.
