YoloinOhio Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 Johnny Football's arm was going forward...until he quite clearly pulled it back and decided "better not throw it" at which point he fumbled the football. That call was simply horrible in a league routinely filled with horrible calls. and they reversed the call on the field!
Fadingpain Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 and they reversed the call on the field! That's a good point, which makes the decision even worse. As someone already said, thank God that abomination of officiating didn't really matter in the end.
K D Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 That call was horrible. To reverse the call on the field was mind boggling. Clearly a fumble
YoloinOhio Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 @MatthewFairburn: Donte Whitner thinks Browns switching to Johnny Manziel was the right call. QB controversy brewing in Cleveland: http://t.co/HgPljqBtbn Well that seals it. Stick with Hoyer.
Thirdborn Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Can't believe that there is no one in is camp that can or will tell him to get it together. So much talent. Glad that they didn't make the change earlier in the game. Having said that, Yeah, he had fresh legs, but as a debut? Pretty impressive. He has a bright future IF someone can screw his head on properly. We did what we needed to do, and am impressed that we moved beyond the annual folding. Love this team. Love that we made Pettine a non issue. Just saying, Manziel could be around for quite some time.
Captain Hindsight Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 He had one good drive then fumbled a snap nearly costing his team even points. Looks like a work in progress to me
Simon Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Plus Thomas was holding Hughes on the TD. Before that ball was snapped I was looking for a flag to fly on Thomas for a procedure penalty. He was set up so far off the line off scrimmage I thought for sure they were going to nail him for it.
Ohiostyle Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Soooo upset that touchdown didn't stand. Certainly no evidence to reverse the call, and everything about the play screamed legit fumble/TD. Really wanted a Manziel low light on SC tonight.
bschmoove Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I thought it was a clear fumble but thought Robey was rolling out of bounds. Doesn't he have to have possession in bounds?
Fadingpain Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I thought it was a clear fumble but thought Robey was rolling out of bounds. Doesn't he have to have possession in bounds? Yes he does, and I wondered the same thing at the time. But if you watch the replays over and over in slow motion, it was clear he had possession inbounds. It should have been a TD for the Bills, pure and simple.
Doc Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 It was as bogus as Brady's against the Raiders was.
Doc Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Every week when a new QB plays a good game, he's anointed the chosen one. I'll wait until he's played more than one good series where he should have been picked off, before I pass judgment.
r00tabaga Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 So glad that major outlets like NFLN & ESPN are questioning the reversal. It didn't cost us the game but holy sh#t that was obvious. Pity call is the only thing I can think of. Browns played awful.
Doc Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Looked like the higher-ups at HQ wanted to give JJB a chance to lead the comeback. No other explanation.
Dorkington Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Color me ignorant, but why is this guy super popular, but other young QBs are basically never talked about?
billsfan714 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Johnny will get the running knocked out of him in the NFL, just ask RG3.
BfloBillsFan Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Manziel himself said he was tucking the ball away and thought it was a fumble.
