Sisyphean Bills Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Gruden: Redskins need a lead so RGIII won't have to drop back I wonder how the block parties are going in their 'hood.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Robert Griffin 3 is a shining example of the shocking inability, for passionate fans such as myself and even talent experts who invest 100 times the time and effort, to successfully identify what a franchise qb to be looks like coming out.
8-8 Forever? Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Biggest price-adjusted bust of all time? Not sure there's much of an argument there....Leaf/Jamarcus did not cost nearly the same. The Red Hued Native Americans and their owner are a dumpster fire of epic proportions. Their brilliant 2 QB draft - shat the bed and they now have DeSean going unfiltered which is always fun if you're not on that team. Gotta love that Snyder let this kid feel comfortable going over the 2-time SB winning HC's head. Better them than us for once! what a crappy attitude. wallowing in another teams troubles. geez. don't throw stones when you live in a glass house. I'm sure all kinds of folks are laughing at what the Bills paid for Watkins. We shall see. takes time. Redskins ( i live in DC) were utterly shredded by key player OL/DL/LB injuries all year, just like SF. That is what tanked their seasons, not some QB crap.

It would be very interesting to analyze the process the Redskins went through in their evaluation on RG3. Did they completely miss his inability to read defenses/throw from the pocket? Did they think his skills were so great that his ability to be mobile would compensate for or make that point moot? Did they buy in to this read-option too much? Did they conclude he had a high likelihood of failure but got him anyway to generate fan excitement/ticket sales? It seems no matter what combination of factors led to their decision, part of the issue is that even people paid millions of dollars to make coldly calculated decisions are still human and frequently susceptible to being swayed by emotion over reason.

The answers to all of those questions is "Yes."
