hondo in seattle Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Can I admit reading this thread brought tears to my eyes? I'm proud of the greater Buffalo Bills family.
DC Tom Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Now THIS is respect, boys and girls. Kudos to them. I still hate 'em, though.
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Kudos to them. I still hate 'em, though. Well Duh.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Darry Talley's struggles hit Bills fans hard Howard Simon If you were a fan of the Buffalo Bills in the late 1980's and into the 1990's, reading the story about the struggles of Darryl Talley hit you hard. REALLY hard. Those teams hold a very special place in the hearts of Bills fans and there are a number of players from that era who feel more like family members.
ChevyVanMiller Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 Of all places, the Talley Fund story was picked up in Abu Dhabi. Turns out we've raised Dh367,000 LOL http://www.thenational.ae/blogs/kit-bag/buffalo-bills-fans-raise-dh367000-in-two-days-for-retired-nfl-player-darryl-talley
Hammered a Lot Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Had a great talk with Janine this morning as I was driving in to the Ralph. There will be an announcement soon and I can't spoil the surprise, but it's good news. The stadium was awesome today with love for Darryl and with what you all have done with the GoFundMe campaign. I had a great time hanging out with Hammered and what I witnesssed up close with the ketchup and mustard ritual will haunt my dreams forever, The burning of the Whitner jersey in effigy was as cool as it gets. Here is the quote that Janine sent me to post as an update: A message from Janine Talley: "Our hearts have been touched by the incomprehensible kindness of people throughout the country, Through tears of joy, every single comment has been read and they have been a source of great comfort. Darryl's purpose is to bring awareness to the fact that there are many former NFL players who suffer similar circumstances. Frank Croisdale's idea has ignited a movement that was inspired by the brilliant story-telling of Tim Graham." Everone should see the ketchup and mustard ritual atleast once in their lifetime!
IDBillzFan Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Of all places, the Talley Fund story was picked up in Abu Dhabi. Turns out we've raised Dh367,000 LOL http://www.thenation...r-darryl-talley Every time I see your last name, I think of Trent Edwards. All along, unbeknownst to me, you were the original "Croise."
TheFunPolice Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 so is Talley going to accept the money? I really hope he does. He obviously needs it and the fans really want to help him. I would hate to see him pass it up out of pride only to continue to suffer
DC Tom Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Every time I see your last name, I think of Trent Edwards. All along, unbeknownst to me, you were the original "Croise." Chroise is a pimp. He never could have outfought Santino. But I didn't know until this day that it was ChevyVanMiller all along.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Tim Graham talks about the Talley Story on Sports Radio 1270 with Rich Gaenzler: http://stationcaster.com/stations/whld/media/mp3/Tim_Graham_12_1-1417464205.mp3 (20:10)
thebandit27 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Had to do it...he was the heart and soul of that defense. He was spider man. He was the bane of Dan Marino many times over. He was the spark when you needed it. He was, quite simply, the man.
ChevyVanMiller Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 John Wawrow interviewed me today. Here's his column with comments from Marv and Patti Thomas: http://pro32.ap.org/article/bills-fans-rally-talley-raise-nearly-139000
Ted William's frozen head Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 My interview on WBEN this morning: http://media.wben.com/a/99695817/crowd-funding-effort-to-help-darryl-talley-frank-croisdale.htm Not much else to say, but 'Ya did a GREAT thing'. :-)
Green Lightning Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I don't want to destroy this thread again. I will leave you with this. I have already spoken with ChevyVanMiller personally about this so you don't have to fight anyone else's battles for them. But if you feel the desire to confront me about it, we can do it in private. You dish it out then you have to expect some back. You were the one who called my priorities into question in an open forum because I donated. Judge not lest ye be judged.
