26CornerBlitz Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 After Bills claim Marcus Thigpen, what's next for Marquise Goodwin? It's been a tough week for Marquise Goodwin. First, the Buffalo Bills wide receiver was a healthy scratch for Monday night's 38-3 win over the New York Jets. Now, the Bills have found another return man. The Bills claimed Marcus Thigpen, a return specialist, off waivers Wednesday from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While he has limited experience as a wide receiver and running back, Thigpen made his mark returning kicks and punts for the Miami Dolphins in 2012 and 2013.
NoSaint Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) So are we now off the boat for both Goodwin and Williams leaving sammy, bob woods and hogan as our 3 true receivers (assuming Easley and this guy end up active)? If so we've used 2 firsts, a second, a third, a fourth, and a sixth in the last 18 months and another third the year before and may only have two guys active Sunday to show for it? (And all the guys are healthy) Edited November 26, 2014 by NoSaint
26CornerBlitz Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 @SalSports Thigpen was 5th in yards/punt return and 8th in yards/kick return in the NFL in 2012. He returned 3rd most kicks and 6th most punts last yr
elroy16 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Does this mean Wynn will be healthy enough to play? I don't remember seeing Bryan Johnson get too many snaps, but it seems risky going into a game with only 3 ends.
3rdand12 Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 why would i want to remember? Now thats good wit right there Does this mean Wynn will be healthy enough to play? I don't remember seeing Bryan Johnson get too many snaps, but it seems risky going into a game with only 3 ends. Have not seen the latest on DE Wynn. Can always move Dareus outside the guard and run 3-4 hybrid right ?
Manther Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 The Bills waited too late, they could've gotten Josh Cribbs Where is Cribbs now? Did he just sign recently?
26CornerBlitz Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 Where is Cribbs now? Did he just sign recently? Colts IIRC. @BenVolin Marcus Thigpen doing an AFC East tour this year. Started with #Dolphins, a few weeks with #Patriots, now claimed by #Bills

Maybe Watkins could get back there ? sure would get the oppositions making adjustments for KO
smuvtalker Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 yes. We don't need Jackson back there returning punts and Goodwin has not been dependable since day 1. Amen. I couldn't believe when I saw Freddy back there, I was thinking WTH????
Augie Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Sure, but is he a punt catcher? One of my favorite Bills quotes ever.
PromoTheRobot Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 (edited) I wanted to say this since Monday. The reason Fred was back on punts is because he's reliable with the hands. I don't think he was expected to run, just make fair catches. Edited November 27, 2014 by PromoTheRobot
26CornerBlitz Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 Where is Cribbs now? Did he just sign recently? Colts IIRC. Josh Cribbs on his debut: 'I still wasn't even at my best' I walked up to Josh Cribbs at his locker after Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and asked the Indianapolis Colts' return specialist if he planned to have Josh Gordy buy him dinner after his penalty cost Cribbs an 82-yard touchdown on a punt return in the third quarter. “Nah, no need for that,” Cribbs said. “It was good to be back out there."
MattM Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 One Chris Watson in Bills' History is enough. Ahh, good old "Toast" Watson...
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 After Bills claim Marcus Thigpen, what's next for Marquise Goodwin? Goodwin is done. It makes no sense to activate a guy who gets injured every game. Feel bad for him, but the team has to activate guys that can actually play.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 @buffalobills DE Bryan Johnson has been re-signed to the #Bills Practice Squad http://bufbills.co/X2dEDK

"Exaggeration is a tool of those unarmed in a battle of wits" is what my debate team instructor taught me.
NoSaint Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Really, EVERY game. "Exaggeration is a tool of those unarmed in a battle of wits" is what my debate team instructor taught me. i used to go to bat for goodwin, but its been rough this year. the guy has more injuries than catches. he has 7 total touches this year (including returns, catches, and carries) and has left 3(?) of his 5 games early

Availability, or lack thereof in his particular case, is a major impediment to his development and contribution to the team. The name Glass Goodwin is unfortunately well deserved at this juncture and it seems the coaches don't trust him enough to put him in the lineup with his demonstrated lack of durability. It's a shame, especially since he seems like such a well intentioned and goodhearted guy.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 29, 2014 Author Posted November 29, 2014 Marcus Thigpen: "I'm honored to be here" Newly signed Bills WR Marcus Thigpen sat down on The John Murphy Show to discuss his first two days at One Bills Drive, his impact on returning kicks, and his transition from running back to receiver.
