TheFunPolice Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) Anyone else notice this? I assume that they would not say that if it wasn't true, but it seems like every game they mention how Marrone is calling the plays. Tonight they even said he has an OC but HE calls the plays. Is this new? Was this always the case? Are the announcers mistaken? Just curious. I have noticed a change for the better in offensive play calling starting with the KC game, so I wonder if Marrone decided to take it upon himself. For the record, I like it. I think it's great when the HC calls plays since it will be his butt on the line anyway. I also have this love/hate thing going with St. Doug. I start threads saying I believe in him, they lose 2 games and I'm done with him, now he wins me back! lol I don't know what to think of him or his offensive staff. IF he is calling plays and the offense improves then Hackett doesn't really matter much. Edited November 25, 2014 by TheFunPolice
rfk Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 He's just responding to the voices in his head.

Kelly the Dog Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 All calls, offense and defense, go through him and he will change them if he doesn't like them. Who knows how much he does. I doubt it's often, especially on defense. I have heard him say he will make a call on an important play on offense. I'm pretty sure that's what Wilcox is referring to, because he will readily admit it. I'm curious as to how much that has changed over the season. I imagine, however, that, for example, the fourth and 1 call was his. I don't know that of course.

During his interview after the game, Marrone said he was talking with Boobie telling him not to jump, but to go low through the hole that would be on the right side. He didn't come out and say it was his play call, but it sure seemed like it the way that he was talking about it and how personally involved he was in that play.
Maddog69 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I heard it mentioned after the KC game that Marrone had taken over playcalling on the offense. Not sure if true or if anything has changed since that.

JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Personally I refuse to believe anything last night's announcers said. Lindell Beckham...
