Philly McButterpants Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Ha! Regal Warrington is my go to theater. Too bad I'm in Buffalo this holiday weekend . . . :-(
KD in CA Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Oh good grief...now we have limited releases on trailers? Maybe they should dedicate one screen at each place to show only the trailer for $5 with a showing every 20 minutes. They'd clean up!
/dev/null Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Only thirty theaters will have the trailer this weekend.... Thirty theaters and then Youtube
HopsGuy Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Wait, "The Force" takes naps? Who's in charge over there?
PromoTheRobot Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I'll go one record: this movie will be a dud.
Just Jack Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 I'll go one record: this movie will be a dud. How do you want to define it as a dud though?
Just Jack Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 It will debut online to, through iTunes.... http://www.theverge.com/2014/11/26/7297087/star-wars-the-force-awakens-trailer-will-be-online-on-friday-too
Chef Jim Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Oh good grief...now we have limited releases on trailers? Maybe they should dedicate one screen at each place to show only the trailer for $5 with a showing every 20 minutes. They'd clean up! Wait, so this is the list of where the trailer is being shown?? I haven't been excited enough to set foot in a theater to see a movie in 10 let alone a trailer.
Just Jack Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 Wait, so this is the list of where the trailer is being shown?? I haven't been excited enough to set foot in a theater to see a movie in 10 let alone a trailer. Yep, and since one is in San Fran and one in San Jose, all us nerds expect you to go and record it for us.
Deranged Rhino Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 I'll go one record: this movie will be a dud. How do you want to define it as a dud though? Agreed, the definition of dud needs to be made clear simply because the goal posts have moved so much in the past decade. Are we talking a critical failure or the film not being a big earner at the box office? If we are talking box office numbers, are we including international markets in the definition or only domestic? I can see it being received like Indy 4 was if it's terrible (though I expect it to be quite good) -- but even then it'll still make a speeder-load of money.
/dev/null Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 http://m.hollywoodreporter.com/entry/view/id/863124 Now they have a "crossed" lightsabre
Chef Jim Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Yep, and since one is in San Fran and one in San Jose, all us nerds expect you to go and record it for us. Right on it!
Deranged Rhino Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 "And the light"... I have to admit that last sequence gave me a little chill. Looks fun to me.
Wayne Cubed Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 "And the light"... I have to admit that last sequence gave me a little chill. Looks fun to me. Agree. Gave me a little chill too. It looks very JJ Abrams-esque with some sprinkles of 'Star Wars' shots mixed in. The opening when John Boyega pops up on screen, which is an Abrams type shot, was very cool. I think it'll be fun and it's nice that it's got a different feel than previous Star Wars.
Doc Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Sounds like really really old Spock doing the voice over. Maybe a ST crossover? Just kidding, but I wouldn't put it past Abrams. I just hope these are better that his STs have been.
/dev/null Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Sounds like really really old Spock doing the voice over. Maybe a ST crossover? Sounded like this guy to me... http://m.imdb.com/name/nm0792003/?ref_=m_tt_cl_i1 Veteran voiceover guy. I didn't know his name til I Googled a couple games. Might be him, might not be
Deranged Rhino Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 (edited) Pretty sure it's either Andy Serkis or Max Von Sydow doing the voice over. Rumors on the inter webs say its Sherlock/Khan (Cumberbatch) but I don't think so. Edited November 28, 2014 by GreggyT
