PromoTheRobot Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Watching the game today made me think about watching the Bills indoors in the future. How would that sit with you?
JM57 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 It would be perfect. I love the Ralph, but that's a beautiful looking facility they have there.
Gavin in Va Beach Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I would prefer it to be a retractable roof, but I'm not as anti-Dome as I once was.
Rubes Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I'd still prefer something with a retractable roof, but it seems to suit them quite well.
FluffHead Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Reviews of ford field seem to be overwhelmingly positive I saw jeremy white tweet today that he has heard pegula has his heart set on an open air stadium. No idea the validity of the statement but it was the first I've heard of anything of the sort
26CornerBlitz Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Hope they take the best attributes from both Ford Field and Lucas Oil Stadium.
TheFunPolice Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 You don't need a dome unless you expect a Super Bowl
Webster Guy Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Domes are awful. the lighting and atmosphere sucks compared to open air stadiums. With all the glitz and flashiness and marketing being force fed into this game, please don't take away the awesomeness of playing the game in the open air.
gomper Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Open air all the way. Dome's take all the charm out of it.
Max997 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) I'm all for a dome as long as it's retractable and open for every game regardless of weather because football is meant to be played outdoors. They can close it for protection from the elements and NCAA Tournament. I like Detroits stadium a lot better then the ones in Dallas and Indy. Arizonas is cool simply because the field moves outside Edited November 25, 2014 by Max997
UpperDeck Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I'd be fine with a dome. If we had one already chances are this game would've been at home today.
machine gun kelly Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 When you think about some of the best stadiums, most historic in the NFL, who do you think about? Soldier field, Lambau, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, KC? Even Raider nation. If we build a retractable stadium, that is a fair compromise. I would hate to lose Buffalo's character. We haven't had a storm like this in 40 years, nd we have not filled the stadium not because of the weather, but because we haven't had a winning product in 15 years. We had no problems filling a bigger stadium (prior to renovations when we wnpent from 82,000 to 73,000) in our playoff years. I'm cool with a retractable stadium as we get to choose when we want open vs. closed. It would also be even louder than now which is saying something.
Freddie's Dead Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Retractable roof to be open for all home games. Close it up if it's completely ridiculous outside, but otherwise I want 10F with -5F wind chill.
PromoTheRobot Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 Retractable roof to be open for all home games. Close it up if it's completely ridiculous outside, but otherwise I want 10F with -5F wind chill. What's the freakin' point? $400MM for nothing.
FluffHead Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Retractable roof = dome. How often do you see teams with retractable roof actually play with it open? Very rarely.
Not at the table Karlos Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I would like a stadium downtown. Only way I have a roof is if it's retractable and open during every bills football game
Captain Hindsight Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Lucas Oil is beautiful but the atmosphere sucked. Not sure if its the fans or what but open air stadiums are loud and wild. I prefer that personally Ford Field looks like a great venue, but I love being in the elements
BuffaloBillsForever Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) Watching the game today made me think about watching the Bills indoors in the future. How would that sit with you? The only benefit to a dome in Buffalo is a superbowl is guaranteed to being played here. I don't see any other benefit but to appease casual football fans since there was a big snow storm in Buffalo in which a dome wouldn't matter anyways. Edited November 25, 2014 by BuffaloBillsForever
Kirby Jackson Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 There is a 0% chance that the new stadium doesn't have a roof. It's about money not shirtless maniacs. My guess would be that it isn't retractable just from a money standpoint but it's possible. If I had to put percentages to it I would say 65% roof, 35% retractable and 0% open air.
