That has some very interesting potential...the little orphan black girl taken in by a black rich man. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what they do with it. But I still have a hard time wrapping my head around a non-redheaded Annie.

The Villain being a white woman (Cameron Diaz) is all the more interesting.

Peter Pan is traditionally played by a woman. Having an androgynous boy (or Robin Williams) play Peter Pan is a relatively recent development, unsurprisingly coinciding with the development and perceived attraction of androgynous boys (and Robin Williams).

I am familiar with this but am curios why the whole "God Hates Fags" and other religious bigot types were not out there protesting it.

Because nobody cares about creepy gingers

Understood. But, I think headlines might change if it was an Asian playing Billy the Kid, or a Brit playing Chief Raging Bull, or an African playing Earnest Goes To Camp, or a Hollywood starlet like Jennifer Lawrence playing Precious?

People get up in arms over stupid stuff. This is another case of it. There were many upset that Jackie Chan played Mr Miyagi and Will Smith's tard kid played Daniel in the latest Karate Kid.

Who cares? They're idiots?

I just find it interesting. I am surprised that we have not heard anything and I can only hope that is because their message fell on deaf ears.

No, black kingdoms in East Africa sold slaves as well. Just to the Arabs, not Europeans. And there was plenty of slavery in North Africa.

Hell, the entire Egyptian army in the time of the Crusades consisted of an enslaved caste of professional soldiers (the Mamluks). They ultimately revolted and founded a dynasty...and they weren't black, either (Turkic and Georgian, mostly).

Yes, but if the question is about the lineage of North American black population, then it does kind of matter, no?

"White House Task Force to Review Grand Jury's Handling of Police Killings "

TheHill.com.

A White House panel is examining whether grand juries are the best way to review the use of deadly force by law enforcement in the aftermath of controversial decisions not to indict police officers who killed unarmed black men.

"One of the things that we will be looking at as a task force is independent review of these kinds of cases and how should that take place," Philadelphia police chief Charles Ramsey, who is co-chairing the panel, told NPR's "Morning Edition" on Tuesday.

So this White House panel, handpicked by Obama, wants to take away police shooting cases from grand juries. So what happens to equal protection under the law? Aren't cops American citizens? Aren't they almost on the same level as illegal aliens? So why deny them equal protection under the law by denying them the ability for their cases to be heard by a grand jury?

The White House panel also wants to force local cops to undergo training. The task force admits that they can't tell cops, police departments, what to do. But they in effect say that they can threaten to withhold federal money from police departments to make the states and counties do their bidding.

The real laugher is this line:

""When anybody in this country is not being treated equally under the law, that's a problem, and it's my job as president to solve it," Obama said."

I think this is a good idea. Another good idea would be to take firearms and protective gear from cops as well. If they're going to enforce the law, it should be a fair fight.

While you know I'm joking, admit it....you can hear the birdogs and gatormans making the argument.

Don't be surprised. El Presidente has the power to singlehandedly do as he chooses. Legalize illegals? CHECK! End the Cuban embargo? CHECK!

End the Cuban embargo? CHECK!

Actually, he did have that power. The law passed in 1996 enforcing the embargo gave the president authority to suspend it.

Well here's to hoping congress beats him over the head with a stick.

Agreed. Just not for that. God knows he's done enough otherwise, without making up faux unconstitutional acts.

I think many here remember I've worked with a lot of folks who are of the bottom tier of society, the ones who get high every night, don't have a license, etc in my professional career in logistics.

Well, it's not Birddog and Gatorman. It's a lot of people I have met who say that the police do not deserve protection or guns. I've heard that they should not be allowed to have bullet proof vests because if they were to just go on a shooting spree against innocent people then it would not be fair. I've heard many say that if the cop was being too rough other people should be allowed to step in and restrain the cop. I've heard if they carry a gun why do they need a bullet proof vest? I've heard they should only carry a tazer.

The best is the most recent crap I've been hearing - that they should all have personal cameras on them. A few guys in separate places suggested a 360degree panorama camera they wear on their head with a microphone.

Funny, they're not Democrats, though, they're just stupid. A decade ago if Republican suggested cameras the Democrats would cry foul. Say we're turning in to big brother just like Orwell said.

They are creating a threat to the positive changes that have come about in the past 20 years in places like NY due to better and more visible policing. The "Broken Windows" policy works.
