The Dean Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Tebow would be an amazing QB in the CFL.... CBF Warren Moon doesn't think so, and I tend to agree: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9234640/warren-moon-tim-tebow-throwing-not-cut-cfl
Maury Ballstein Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Who cares what a backup qb who can't beat out a flawed starter is upto ?

Hot Buffalo Wings Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Massive? Hmm. You should work for the media.

peterpan Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 This hilarious. Did anyone read the article??? JFF was at his house!!! "spotted Manziel while waiting for an elevator at the high-end apartment complex, where many Cleveland professional athletes live" Johnny gets blind sided by a stranger when he didn't do anything wrong "My brother saw what was going on and he ran he tackled Johhny Manziel" tackled him, yeah, I’m talking about he speared him all the way to the back wall." Not sure where the idea of JfF being with 20 people came from --> "I was by myself and Johnny Manziel and like three or four of his buddies were all coming at me." Maybe because the article said 20 police officers came?? So this guy gets assaulted while heading to his apartment and his buddies back him up -- and you guys think he is a POS - goodness don't jump to any pre-conceived conclusions about the guy at all. . To be fair, what is he doing out at a club on a Friday night into the wee hours of the morning during the season? If he wants to shake the stigma of surrounding himself with trouble, he shouldn't be out anywhere at 2:30 a.m. Go home, watch a movie, read your playbook, get to bed early. I know he's young, and maybe he'll learn; he hasn't yet.

I mentioned several pages back that I misread the story originally--clearly the "victim" was the one that was out at a club. I did mention, however, that if Manziel wants to avoid trouble, he shouldn't be out anywhere at 2:30 a.m., let alone during the season. I find it funny that my post is the one that you single out, when I didn't say a single thing about him being "a POS".
QCity Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Who cares what a backup qb who can't beat out a flawed starter is upto ? Why do we have to drag EJ into every thread?

26CornerBlitz Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Browns' Manziel makes first public remarks on late-night incident Johnny Manziel addressed a late-night incident with a Browns fan last Saturday for the first time on Friday. According to the report, Manziel and his associates were involved in an incident early Saturday morning with Ohio native Chris Gonos, who claimed a member of Manziel's crew struck him after he asked the quarterback for a hug and took a step in his direction. Johnny Football told reporters on Friday that the man was "very intoxicated" and "very aggressive," according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. Manziel added that Gonos, "came at me, put his hands on me, was extremely aggressive." The Browns backup quarterback said he and his roommate tried to diffuse the situation as professionally as possible.
NoSaint Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Browns' Manziel makes first public remarks on late-night incident hugging a stranger would be pretty aggressive - but leaves a wide range of ways to remedy the situation. im curious to see if it went beyond just being a little sloppy and excited.
Mr. WEO Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 (edited) I think the "he shouldn't be out at 0230 on a Friday night" stuff is laughable. We have at least 3 HOFers who probably did this every Friday night in the early 90's....booze, coke, women. No one cared back then. Society is phoney and self-righteous nowadays. And who wouldn't relish the opportunity to drop this Bro? Edited November 28, 2014 by Mr. WEO

There was no social media or internet to deal with during that era, so it behooves a player to be smart about the choices he makes with regard to exposing himself to situations such as this one. Adapt to the change or perish!

26CornerBlitz Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 See this is the type of story we wouldn't see without him under huge scrutiny. He revels in his celebrity and profits from it. He has to be willing to accept both the good as well as the bad that comes with the territory. He can help himself by choosing better friends and associates. No tears or sympathy from me.

I called out his friends in this thread - I agree they are an issue. But his roommate getting a DUI is stretching the stories a bit far. He's earned it, but I'm not going out of my way to call him out on this one like I have plenty of others. Edited November 29, 2014 by NoSaint
