C.Biscuit97 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 10:45 PM no mention of Bills-Jets game on ESPN.com but the Manziel non-story is still up. Media is click and ad driven. Sad. ESPN is awful but to a lot of the nation, that wasn't a big game. Manziel has become Tebow where he's off the field stuff makes more news than him actually playing. At least Tebow didn't bring it on himself. But it's awesome for us. Let them spend the week talking about their backup qb.
The Dean Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 In reality, you can honestly take it either way. You can see he needs to be okay with fans coming up to him and touching him, sure. But isn't he at more risk? A stranger grabs me, I'm not too worried for my personal safety, but Johnny Football has a much better chance of getting stabbed by a random crazy Alabama fan, no? I understand that, but if part of your job is "Celebrity" and you stoke that (as he clearly does) you have to deal with the consequences. If that worried him, he could step back on his "bad boy" image, not stay out in public late at night, not have a huge media presence, etc. He make a ton of money, above and beyond his football contract, due to his celebrity status. Don't like the gig? Don't play the role. But I think the bigger issue is his continual public displays go against what he has been asked to do by the owner of the team. I would be shocked if his teammates think his behavior reflects what they expect from their backup QB. Had he been called on to play Sunday, do you think he would have been prepared? Or do you think it is more likely he would have pulled a Billy Jo Hobart/Mike Vick "I was unprepared this week"? I'm betting it would be the later. And had he not performed, with this story breaking, what would be the fallout? Dude has to grow up.
YoloinOhio Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 whoa. So that guy is a creepy stalker.

TheFunPolice Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) Looking at that picture of him and Hoyer little johnny is a skinny little punk too lol He needs to hit the weights and the playbook and forget the nightlife for a while Edited November 25, 2014 by TheFunPolice
Freddie's Dead Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 didnt peyton manning moon a female reporter when he was in college? IMO that trumps anything JF allegedly did As long as he didn't crap on her from the fecal position he was in.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 http://www.clevescen...ntown-cleveland Local report on radio has confirmed it was him. Also, his GF tweeted Hoyer should be benched yesterday http://nypost.com/20...hoyer-benching/ just getting ready for the game. His GF will be in a gobillsindallas would ya thread real quick.
The Dean Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) Exactly. When I was his age getting in a scuffle was no big deal. If no one ended up in the hospital or in jail it was a good night. I don't know what it was like for those who spent Friday night at choir practice. Set the bar low enough and I guess Johnny looks good. I doubt any of us represented a muti-billion dollar company or were looked upon as someone in a position to lead a professional football team to victories. But even so, I had no position of great responsibility or special expectations. We never got into scuffles (seriously only idiot get into bar fights) but we did party extremely hard. Yes, we took drugs, drove under the influence, etc. Not proud of it, but it is the truth. You know what we didn't do? Get caught. One would think a guy who continues to draw negative attention to himself would figure out a different way to go about things. Seems clear to me, he simply doesn't' care. Mr. WEO Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Sounds like "massive fight" is turning into massive overstatement...

Just the fact that he is out at 230 am during the season is enough for me. Thats not taking care of yourself. Sure you can pull it off. Many of us did. But we also suffered the next day or so.The guy almost seems to be looking for a situation. Maybe he is frustrated standing behind Hoyer ?

The Dean Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are in his future. They wouldn't take Tebow, from what I understand, and he is a choir boy.
TheFunPolice Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Other way around: Tebow didn't want to play in Canada
The Dean Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Other way around: Tebow didn't want to play in Canada From what I understand, no CFL team guaranteed him the starting QB spot. Here's one example: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000165254/article/might-tim-tebow-make-it-to-cfls-montreal-alouettes He also may not have wanted to play in Canada, but the my point was, as far as I can tell, no CFL team was offering him a #1 QB spot.
