mannc
Well...they did in fact NOT got go to OBJ on that final drive...... You go to your number one at crucial times So, who is their number 1, then? Look, i am not even saying that ODB is better than Sammy, but if you can't admit that he is an unbelievable talent and a clear number one receiver in the NFL, then you are just being silly. FireChan
And prior to ODB. So, Victor Cruz has lost his job now? Have you seen him play before? Because Cruz was the #1 while he was healthy this year with ODB. Edited November 24, 2014 by FireChan

Which calls into question the wisdom of the trade up to pick Watkins. Or you can keep kidding yourself. Edited November 24, 2014 by mannc
FireChan
Yep That's ridiculous. Cruz had 1,500 yards his first season starting as the 4th string WR. ODB with 2 good games has overtaken him?

truth on hold
What are you basing your opinion on that Beckham is better than Sammy? I hope it's not their short pro careers bc that would be ridiculous but I do think it's funny how threads like this pop up after a guy has a few good games. IMO Sammy is a true number 1 receiver, don't know if same can be said for Beckham on what are you basing your opinion that Sammy is a "true number 1 receiver, don't know if same can be said for Beckham"? Its hard to even evaluate this because neither of these WR's have even played a full season...... But give me the guy that can either juke a defender out of their shoes OR truck a linebacker for a needed yard That player is Sammy Watkins

Odb had a very good November. I still maintain though even if careers end up equal sammy was a safer pick and more polished all around player. Odb is obviously talented though and will often show to be worth his first round grade - but I think sammys still the best of the bunch.

BringBackFergy
Really starting to hate our fanbase. We probably did give up too much, never a good idea to trade picks, but when you draft as poorly as the Bills have in the past decade and a half does it really matter? I mean this is a franchise who has drafted Donte Whitner in the top 10, traded a first round pick to draft JP Losman, drafted McKelvin in the top 15, John McCargo in the 1st round, Aaron Maybin in the top 15, two running backs in the top 12 (one who was ultimately traded but good, and another who be a free agent), the underperforming Eric Wood who isn't a top 5 Center but is paid like one, and last but not least EJ Manuel who was a second day selection at best. So I'm going to worry about a 1st round pick? Even when we have them we usually blow them. Hey look, lets continue to play this game and make ourselves more miserable. We could have drafted Chris Borland instead of Preston Brown, we could have draft Navarro Bowman instead of Alex Carrington, Gronk instead of Troup, we could have traded up for Big Ben instead of trading up for Losman, we could have drafted.... Bottom line, Sammy is a good player, he'll be a good player barring injury and further development. This team needs good players. Stop comparing him to other receivers, stop worrying about the 1st round pick we gave because it's a sunk cost, no getting it back. Worry about him developing and staying healthy. Not the could have and the should haves. Seems like that's all we do, worry about our past miscues. It's over with, move on. We have bigger issues than Sammy Watkins. You new here?? Ya know, it's true, you'll argue about anything, won't you. Beckham Jr was hurt through OTA's and TC. The performances he's put on since he began play in 2014 are very strong. I've seen a couple of his games and he keeps getting better. In 6 games Cruz had 23 receptions for 337 yards and one TD. In 7 games Beckham Jr has 41 receptions for 609 yards and 5 TDs. If those aren't #1 stats then I don't know what would be. The kid is good and hopefully we'll be watching he & Sammy for a long, long time. Nanker
I've seen Beckham drop a bunch of passes this year. Then again, I just saw him make an amazing 3-fingered TD grab.
Dorkington
The fact that there is any debate who the best rookie WR is, means we overpaid. But that's hindsight in spades. Sammy was really the only "sure thing" everyone else had question marks from what I remember. Just another moment in our long line of bad luck.
