Believe me, they are grasping at every dime they can as they plummett to insolvency. We hate trying cases there, the juries give away money like tootsie rolls on Halloween. It is like trying a case downstate. Broken leg in Onondaga County = 15,000, a broken leg in NYC = 75,000, in Utica (Oneida County)=60,000. I got a "no cause" (dismissal) there last summer and the carrier still thinks I bribed someone but they are sending me plenty of cases. I'm not sure if I should be insulted or not. They lived off on an Air Base in Rome NY which is pretty much down to nothing. There were lots of engineers there doing research for defense contractors at the base, mostly radar. They are all gone now. The base problem set off a chain reaction of business closings all over the county. They have never recovered. The only going concern of note there is Turning Stone Hotel and Casino. Its an Indian run operation so although it provides lots of low paying jobs it doesn't generate tax revenue directly. They are totally screwed.

Who am I kidding? 4.5% city wage tax in Philadelphia. $7,500 a year in school taxes in the suburbs on a 1900 sq ft house. And I wonder where my money goes. Sonsabitches. These are the threads that make me want to move to an armed ranch in Colorado.

But for a three bedroom house in any decent neigborhood with schools that dont resemble prisons, youre paying over $8,000 per year in taxes, minimum. Whats been going on with State and local politics borders on criminal. These local yahoos make the Feds look smart.

My representative and Senator (Dent and Specter), while Republicans, are still big tax and spenders. No Dimocrat would ever represent my views, so how is it I'm being 'represented'.
