RJsackedagain Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 I think the Bills might have to throw in a draft pick to get this deal done. Surtain, Nate and McGee would give the Bills a pretty solid secondary along with Milloy and Vincent.
SouthTownBills51 Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 i'd trade in conference if it was a good trade for us, if we got what we wanted then yes im all for it..surtain- he comes to play when he wants to and how old is he??
Ramius Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 problem is that surtain carries something like an 8 mil cap figure...
soljc Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 I think the Bills might have to throw in a draft pick to get this deal done. Surtain, Nate and McGee would give the Bills a pretty solid secondary along with Milloy and Vincent. 225590 That secondary sounds great, but you're right, we'd need to offer a pick, maybe even a 2nd. Would you do it? He's due an outrageous contract, but we may be prepared to spend on that position with Nate needing a new deal soon. I'd do it.
Rico Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 I'd rather trade Travis Henry, Aaron Schobel, and a pick for Jason Taylor.
RJsackedagain Posted February 2, 2005 Author Posted February 2, 2005 Surrtain is 28 and in the final year of his contract. I think Travo is also in the last year of his deal, but at a much cheaper price
the_franchise Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 yes i would do it. surtain would just be another person thrown into the mix of stoping t-hen when we played against him... we really wont need him seeing as t-hen cant go without tripping over a yard line...
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 Hell yes.......probably just created the best secondary on the field at the same time in the history of the franchise.
KurtGodel77 Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 I'd be willing to trade Travis to Miami for a draft pick; or a player at a position of need. Our secondary is just about the last thing we should be worrying about.
justnzane Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 Travis Henry for Randy McMichael 225690 Yes lets get a wifebeating TE for a 1400 yd. TB
Happy Days Lois & Clark Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 problem is that surtain carries something like an 8 mil cap figure... 225668 It would be about $5.8million against the Bills cap if they were to trade for him
Rico Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 It would be about $5.8million against the Bills cap if they were to trade for him 226151 ESPN says $6.15M Surtain is entering the final year of a contract that pays him $6.15 million in 2005 and has a cap number of $8.383 million.
BRH Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 If it helps us at another position (TE, DL, CB), weakens the Dolphins at the position and keeps them from getting a better RB than Travis at the same time, I'm good with it.
stuckincincy Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 Surtain comes with a bit of a price, but with free agency and cap being the rule that changes rosters yearly, I don't think that trading within a division means very much these days.
soljc Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 Our secondary is just about the last thing we should be worrying about. 226134 I beg to differ. McGee has ability, but I don't think he's the long-term answer at CB, at least not our starting CB (i.e. nickel). And while I like Nate, he's due some big money next year, and if we're gonna spend, I'd rather have Surtain.
shibuya Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 problem is that surtain carries something like an 8 mil cap figure... 225668 Surtain costs the Dolphins 8.5 His base salary is 5.85 which would be the cap figure of any team whom he was traded to would have to assume, and how much the Dolphins save by getting rid of him. Any team that wants Surtain is going to negotiate a contract extension anyways because Surtain is a UFA after this season.
