It surprises me that climage change is still a debate, but I suppose that'll happen when it's a serious threat to certain industries.

It's a challenge, though, and with our growing populations in speciic parts of the world, it'll continue to be a challenge for some time to come.

It's not so much a debate that it may or may not be happening, but rather a debate on why it's happening, if indeed it is. The earth has been around for a very long time, and has undergone many climate changes before warm blooded creatures ever evolved. Given that the satellite technology and weather/atmosphere data is still a new science, coupled with the fact that much of the climate change/global warming 'data' is based on computer models, there's more than a little conjecture involved in any proclamations of human involvement causing any rise in temperature. It's one thing to be prudent with respect to what we put into the air, water, and ground, and something else again to start putting taxes and heavy-handed regulations on industry based on what we might be doing.

Climate change isn't a debate so much as an incomplete theory. And it's likely to always be an incomplete theory, simply because the earth's climate is so damned complex.

And because of that, it should be up for debate...all the better to investigate it. No one ever learned anything by assuming they were right.

Now this is solid and rational reasoning that anyone can agree with. It's just that the Al Gores of the world want to change entire industries and allow the EPA to run roughshod over America .

Some advice---sit back and get to know other posters before using both barrells on them. You might find that you agree with them more than you disagree.

The shame of the global warming/climate change canard is that it takes focus/money away from tangible efforts to help out the environment, such as the phenomenal success story of the Great Lakes cleanup.

Really...I'm a published scientist who's having my knowledge of the scientific method vetted by a mouth-breather who I wouldn't trust to understand the inner workings of a Slinky. I'm going to put up with that ****?

It wasn't a compliment, it was a condescending pat on the head from a dolt who doubtlessly thinks evolution is a socialist conspiracy to kill God. It got the response it deserved.
