I fire up my coal-powered water heater every morning and only use soap made from veal fat I was speaking with the friend of a friend a while back. He’s quite liberal, proudly so, and a Patriots fan. When we got around to this subject, I inquired about the carbon footprint of the NFL, its negative impact on the environment and his contribution to the climate crisis. Turns out it’s a guilty pleasure (as was being a huge proponent of capitalism in this case) of his. Some people like football. Some people like soap. Some people like both. You don’t need to favor a coal-powered water heater to be a part of the problem, Roundy.

I for one cannot wait until the oceans are choked with plastic and we chop down every last tree. River water should burn like battery acid I always say. What I wonder about the plastic in the ocean is how did it get there? Its not from people throwing plastic bottles and containers directly into the Pacific. And I'm aware of no such problem in the other oceans of the world. Using plastic might be problematic but I think the root of the problem with ocean surface pollution with plastic is exports of garbage from America to Asia. Lots of stuff falls off the ship or is thrown overboard intentionally. I think this is a lesson in problem solving. Rather than focusing on banning plastic containers the first step might be addressing and eliminating the activity that's dumping the stuff in the ocean. Root Cause Analysis would generate an immediate solution to stop shipping our garbage to Asia. Edited May 21 by All_Pro_Bills

Big Blitz Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Even Elon has talked about this - we have nowhere near the copper reserves to pull off the climate change shame they want to implement

I disagree with you on the "zero effect" but those pretending we understand it are more delusional.

Often times, we don’t know the extent of a season until it’s over and we calculate damage costs?

Andrew, due to hitting Miami, in 1992 is still top 3 year in cost despite it being not that bad. The level would have to be 3 separate level 3 or worse storms. I am now reconsidering my offer because if we have several hurricanes and I can't vent here I will feel bad for my wife. 2

B-Man Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Bill Gates Takes on Farting Cows but Predictably Leaves Out a Pretty Important Fact The elites are once again very concerned for the planet, and Bill Gates seems to be taking a page from AOC's book because his issue now is flatulent bovines. Take a look. Funny that he left out that last little bit, huh? It's almost like all life on earth needs carbon. That we are, we dunno, carbon-based life forms? Plant life needs it from us and the animals, and in turn they convert it to the oxygen we need, and so on and so forth for eternity. You'd think a so-called genius would be aware of this, and you'd be right. He knows it, but control is more important to the climate cultists. https://twitchy.com/laura-w/2024/06/08/bill-gates-takes-on-the-farting-cows-but-predictably-leaves-out-a-pretty-important-fact-n2397096
