Tiberius Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 So the oil/coal interests have spent billions on propaganda and it's really worked. In the future I'm sure the propaganda campaign against science here will be studied as history. I mean many of you people have swallowed the propaganda whole and argued there is a conspiracy of scientists to install socialism. It is funny. Its sad, too. Probably more sad, but you have to laugh. 1
row_33 Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 It’s hot in July, must mean the world is coming to an end this week.

Tiberius Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Republicans are butt hurt and complaining about people using their own property for something Conservatives have been conditioned to hate. What a bunch of snow flakes Quote ELLENSBURG, Wash. — When a company from Seattle came calling, wanting to lease some land on Jeff and Jackie Brunson’s 1,000-acre hay and oat farm for a solar energy project, they jumped at the idea, and the prospect of receiving regular rent checks. They did not anticipate the blowback — snarky texts, phone calls from neighbors, and county meetings where support for solar was scant. Critics said the project would remove too much land from agricultural production in central Washington. If approved by regulators, it would be one of the biggest solar generators ever built in the state, with five large arrays spread around the county, covering around 250 acres with sun-sucking panels. Ms. Brunson said the critics should mind their own business and respect property rights. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/11/us/washington-state-rural-solar-economy.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=second-column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news
B-Man Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 BECAUSE IT’S NO FUN GETTING THERE WITHOUT GIVING THE GOVERNMENT MORE POWER: U.S. CO2 Levels Drop Again — So Why Aren’t Green Groups Rejoicing? The new report, based on U.S. data, shows clearly the U.S. continuing downward trend. “The U.S. emitted 15.6 metric tons of CO2 per person in 1950,” wrote the Daily Caller. “After rising for decades, it’s declined in recent years to 15.8 metric tons per person in 2017, the lowest measured levels in 67 years.” That’s right. 67 years. Green groups and leftist climate extremists should be exulting. The U.S. has found a way to produce more GDP — making all of us better off — with less energy. Meanwhile, Europe has imposed massive economy-deadening regulations on its economies in order to reduce CO2 output. How has that worked? Last year, European output of CO2 rose 1.5%, while U.S. output fell 0.5%. For the record, the disaster predicted when President Trump left the Paris climate agreement and rejected draconian EPA restrictions on power plants hasn’t materialized. On the contrary, the U.S. model has been shown to be superior. This isn’t the first time we’ve reported the ongoing decline in U.S. CO2. And if current trends hold, it won’t be the last. And, to be sure, it is a long-term trend. . . . Question: Over the same period, how did the rest of the world do? Emissions rose by 21% to 6.04 billion metric tons over the 12 years, mostly due to booming economic growth in India and China, where coal-fired energy output continues to expand. The truth, and it’s proven by the hard data, is that CO2 made in the USA will not choke the world to death or cause it to massively overheat. And you can thank capitalism for that. Well, they’re not going to do that. The thing to remember is, environmentalism is the excuse for the policies they champion, not the reason. .
Kevbeau Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 On 7/2/2018 at 2:38 AM, ALF said: Air pollution linked to 3.2 million new diabetes cases in one year In the United States, air pollution was linked to 150,000 new cases of diabetes per year. "There's an undeniable relationship between diabetes and and particle air pollution levels well below the current safe standards," said senior study author Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly, an assistant professor of medicine at Washington University. "Many industry lobbying groups argue that current levels are too stringent and should be relaxed. Evidence shows that current levels are still not sufficiently safe and need to be tightened." Over 30 million Americans have diabetes, and the numbers worldwide are staggering: According to WHO, 422 million adults had been diagnosed by 2014, compared with 108 million in 1980. https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/29/health/air-pollution-diabetes-study/index.html I read the article but it’s slim on real details of the analysis. Is this a real thing? I mean I can correlate the increase in diabetes to Robert Downey Jrs career.
Wacka Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 (edited) I find it a real stretch to relate air pollution to a disease that is caused by autoimmune disease (type 1) and obesity (type 2). Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes is when you body kills off the insulin producing cells. Type 2 is when your body still makes insulin but the cells don't respond to it. Edited July 14, 2018 by Wacka Typos and stupid "autocorrect"

LaDexter Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 One of the quick ways to bust the "warmers" for deliberate fraud is the "rising oceans" "sinking islands" nonsense. The "warmers" have three sinking island chains, all in the south Pacific, and precisely nothing else is "sinking." The "elders" in Hawaii have refused to go along with the "warmers" and claim Hawaii is sinking, because it isn't, and the 50 year gap between the two Hawaii 5-0 shows demonstrates that the same beach has seen no ocean rise at all. Take, for example, this hysteria.... https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2015/06/opinions/sutter-two-degrees-marshall-islands/ The Marshall Islands are sinking.... so are the Solomons and another chain by New Guinea.... that's it. WHAT is causing those island chains to sink while nothing else is sinking??? Answer to be posted shortly if nobody gets it right first...

LaDexter Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Notice where the sinking island chains are, and then check the map....

LaDexter Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 It is truly AMAZING that the tippy toppiest top climate "scientists" cannot figure out that their three sinking island chains are all RIGHT ON THE "LIP" of the tectonic formation known as the Pacific Ring of Fire.... on the SUBDUCTION side.... In short, in 3 million years, the Marshall Islands will not just be under water, they will be under the Earth's crust...

LaDexter Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 That the "warmers" have to LIE about "sinking islands" says WHAT about whether there is any real evidence of an ongoing ocean rise???

REALLY.... they are close enough for the angle of descent to start sinking the islands. Tectonic plates do not bend at 90 degree angles. There is a slope, and it extends hundreds of miles from the actual fault.... but the quickie diagrams just show an almost 90 degree bend, so that's what DC Tom thinks is "real."
