These prevalent record freezing temps of course prove its global warming.

The record man-made increase in temperatures is just hiding somewhere the consensus of climate scientists aren't looking.

Climate stuff is like when Barry Melrose was on the pre-game show

"Of course everyone knows that the Islanders are going to easily beat the Rangers tonight!!!"

and when the Rangers won he would say on the post-game show

"Of course everyone knew that the Rangers would easily beat the Islanders tonight."

Like temperature and stock market fluctuation, something has to happen, so the expert is always right, right?

Whatever it is, it's hiding in the ocean where we can't find it.

That record snowfall in Erie could be because of global warming. Warmer lake means more snow

Whenever in the winter when Lake Erie isn't frozen, there's a good chance of lake effect snow. Very cold air is crossing the "warm" water picking up moisture and dumping snow on the south shore of Lake Erie. The direction of the wind determines where the snow is dropped. In Erie they measure snowfall at the airport which is only 12 blocks from the lake. If the wind was directly out of the North then they would be reporting maybe 6" instead of 63"and south towards I-90 and beyond would be getting hammered. The wind had to have been out of the NW because it hit the shore hard along with points south. This snowfall was not a function of abnormally warm lake water but abnormally cold air and direction of the wind, but probably more importantly this happens here in winter to some extent every year because it is winter. It is not because of some political religion called "global warming".

Actually, climate models have predicted that on average the Great Lakes would have snowier winters due to global warming.

The key point most ****heads like gatorman miss being that "on average" is not equal to "Erie, PA on December 26, 2017."

Well sure, if the lake doesn't freeze over NW PA and WNY are going to have on average more snowfall. Early cold snaps with wind off the lake are a blessing in disguise if it's cold enough, long enough for the lake to freeze. Once that happens we'll get just what everyone else in the NE gets. Regardless, one way or the other this area is going to get its share of snow.
