What do insurance companies know?

Two things, until 2023 our laws were written to encourage POS attorneys to sue insurance companies even if no real problem occured. Basically if the lawyer could prove $1 more in coverage, regardless of reason, the insurance company paid for lawyer fees on both sides. That law has been changed and should slow growth of that cost. The second reason is if you build a $4 million house on the coast you need to pay a high price for coverage. If you don't want to pay the high price move to Orlando where you can get a $500k house covered for $1700 a year.

Insurance companies are raising rates on increased costs due to climate change related storm damage/severity.

Florida is a high risk state for large events, therefore our insurance will always be higher, especially along the coast. I am confident in my predictions about storms not becoming worse, hence why it has been 32 years since we have seen anything similar to Andrew. Anyone who moved here and is surprised by the high insurance I would state the same thing as someone who is shocked by taxes in NYC, do better research.

This kind of crap is aimed directly at people who think an expert is by definition smart. We just had the first period in 50 years where all of late August was dead in the Atlantic and now we have "proof" of Climate change. We have no idea how storms intensified until the past 40 years, to make claims this way is simply dishonest.

This is way overdue.

Just an election year ruse.  It’ll quietly go away to keep the greenies happy later.  Why? Because the disingenuous D’s know the greenies aren’t going anywhere for this election.

Shoot, they may ramp up oil drilling permits for 6 months… Take credit for it while blaming the old coot after.

It's going to be impossible with the rise of AI data centers.  Some have their own nuke sources going online.

We went to Disney between Frances and Ivan that year.  Had to delay our trip 2 days to get in.  The parks were almost empty and they were giving away free food they had made but couldn't sell.
