packfntk
I hope you have an awesome trip, and change your mind after your loss. Either way, enjoy! Long Packer fan story, but at a December Tampa Buc's game a decade plus ago, one die hard fan barely old enough to drink was shirtless on a cold early winter day. Balmy by Green Bay standards. He had no shirt, but was wearing a purple bra on his head. He had a head start. He was harmless, but borederline innappropriate with my wife. She was fine with the drunken fool, but my over-served former friend began a brawl that cascaded down several rows as my wife scurried out with my two middle school aged sons. I was actually with a Rotary group and things got very strange. That is zero commentary on Pack fans, but a statement on NFL games and bound to draw fire. I love going, but know what you're getting into. It's usually fine, but there are those fools. And I hate that! Sorry for the negativity. Oh yeah, we usually get treated well at the stadiums we go to, but there is always that guy in every stadium. We really haven't had too much trouble. Couple of things: 1- Friend got cornered in Pittsburgh's bathroom by a group of them. I dragged my buddy out and nothing happened. 2- Chicago- Bunch of clowns behind us were chucking peanuts at us the entire game, just annoying, but expected. They weren't even watching the game. 3- After the "Fail Mary" and the Seahawks "Won" they were throwing food and beer at us as we were walking out. Class all the way. But other than that, it has been good. 12 NFL stadiums, and soaking up what the other team has to offer for atmosphere and tradition is great. And supporting my beloved Packers. Your defense will be a big test for the Packers, they can force pressure and create turnovers.
1B4IDie
Be careful. Rex Ryan has search bots dispatched throughout the intarwebs looking for tidbits like this. You know after Rex is done footing the role of Jests coach, He seems like the kinda guy you wouldn't mind standing toe to toe with at a tailgate. 1B4IDie
Oh yeah, we usually get treated well at the stadiums we go to, but there is always that guy in every stadium. Your defense will be a big test for the Packers, they can force pressure and create turnovers. That is my plan too, I want to hit all 31 Stadiums (32 if you count Wembley) We had 2 incidents of note in the 15 I've been to (see signature below) 1.) Jacksonville "fans" are just freaking crazy aggressive for no apparent reason. We were challenged to fight multiple times it was just strange, especially when both teams had nothing to play for at the time and are not division rivals. This has been confirmed by other fans that road trip for other teams. 2.) A woman ran up behind my friend at the Redskins game and tried to push him down the stairs. My friend turned around swinging but luckily assessed the situation and stopped (had he connected all hell would have broken loose.) The boyfriend came in, saying "you're going to hit a woman?" It actually seemed like this was scripted between the boyfriend and girlfriend in order to incite a riot. Luckily a Redskins bystander stepped in, called out the woman for pushing my friend ("You need to control your (female dog)" I believe is what he said) and everyone went their separate ways. A visiting fan will get heckled at every stadium, and I believe a visiting fan should be heckled at every stadium. Some good natured ribbing is in order. As long as you can give back a little good natured ribbing you won't get bullied and everyone will have a good time. The chatter is part of the fun. Most people won't take it past ribbing as long you demonstrate you're just having fun. Just understand in Buffalo, the tolerance for the ribbing is pretty low. You will find people that will "drop their gloves" for the smallest perceived slight. It is not uncommon for Bills fans to break out fighting each other, just google "buffalo bills fan fight" . So I'd recommend dialing it back a notch in Buffalo as compared to other stadiums. Edited November 19, 2014 by Why So Serious?
