PastaJoe Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Do threads ever get deleted to recover space on the DB? Any threads without activity for 30 days should be deleted. There must be plenty of threads that are obsolete.
HOUSE Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) Would the owner consider selling ? Edited November 19, 2014 by HOUSE
Best Player Available Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I'm in. A paypal link would be great. Maybe the "rich" PPP braggarts could handle it themselves?
GG Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Don't we get a free server with an Amazon Prime subscription? Time to add Bezos to the TBD community.
mead107 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Money? I think jay should pay. Mess up pay up. Love you jay.
Dorkington Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I'll throw in a few bucks here and there. I have no technical expertise to help with, though. Just need a button to click.
Nanker Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Okay techies... time to shine. Boss man needs some advice.
Fan in San Diego Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 SDS I suggest just deleting old threads. Anything over a month should be able to be deleted. Would that save much space? Improve performance?
CodeMonkey Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Click on the ads and that will help with revenue. I didn't even know there were ads until I went and looked on the main page after reading this post. My bookmark comes right to the stadium wall. Maybe put ads here as well?
CodeMonkey Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 MySQL. On game days, it is I/O. Too many people accessing the same exact content (usually a single game day thread). I have to turn off a topic marking feature because of the high amount of writes that locks everything up. You could limit the number of posts users can make to one per minute or 5 minutes even.
PolishDave Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Amazon Cloud or Rackspace Cloud possibly a better hosting solution?
