On Nov. 17, 1974, rookie backup quarterback Gary Marangi came off the bench to replace Joe Ferguson in Miami, and threw his first passes for the Bills.

Two of them went for touchdowns, including a 5-yard touchdown to Bobby Chandler to tie the game at 28 with less than a minute left.

Since this was the 1970s, Don Nottingham scored on a 23-yard run 37 seconds later to give the Dolphins a 35-28 win, their 10th straight over the Bills on the way to 20 in a row.

If you're looking to kill a little time waiting for kickoff, here are a couple things I wrote this week:

On memories better left suppressed:

And a piece that ran in this week's Artvoice. Sort of light on Bills-Dolphins preview stuff, because the print edition came out today, and will be on the street for another six days after the game.

Enjoy the game ...

As for tonight, it looks like a good matchup for Buffalo, what with how poorly Ryan Tannehill has handled a pass rush that has been more dominant than ever the last couple of games. This being the Bills, however, keeping your optimism cautious is recommended.
