boyst
Beef consumption in the US has been falling for the past decade, you moron. I was getting him there. I can't just give him all 500some links I have about beef on my browser, but here is proof to your statementhttp://www.ers.usda.gov/topics/animal-products/cattle-beef/statistics-information.aspx here is the business at a glance for the year http://www.beefusa.org/beefindustrystatistics.aspx Hippy websites are going to talk about how beef is all bad for you, and the recalls and this and that when it is more to do with people eating more bull **** and less real food. Strangely enough milk consumption has fallen greatly, too. Almost 40% dropoff in the last 50 years. did he really just try to tell the dairy farmer his business dairy farmer? DAIRY FARMER? THE !@#$!? TPS
Are you asking me why Austrian micro trends aren't obviously surfacing in a manipulated macro economy? Do you really need me to answer that question? Ok, I see. The economy has been manipulated by the Fed for over 5 years now as its balance sheet has increased 500%. You (and Magox) claimed it was Fed policy that caused higher oil/commodity prices in the first part of the age of manipulation. Now, apparently you are claiming that same manipulation is causing lower prices? Or are you claiming other conspiratorial forces are to blame? Tiberius
Beef consumption in the US has been falling for the past decade, you moron. Yes, stupid, but there is this thing called the global market that sets prices. Imports down, exports up. Even you can understand that, right? I get it now, though. You clowns don't want the market to be blamed. The Free Market is never to blame. It's GOT to be the governments fault. Has to be. There fore it's higher grain prices because of government policy, right? I was getting him there. I can't just give him all 500some links I have about beef on my browser, but here is proof to your statement http://www.ers.usda.gov/topics/animal-products/cattle-beef/statistics-information.aspx here is the business at a glance for the year Your own source says values of exports have gone from 2.9 billion a year to over 5.9 billion. And it doesn't even tell the story of falling imports. Thanks!

Tiberius
What are you asking/ saying? I don't see a point Higher global demand is driving beef prices higher. And where did Tasker run off to? Lol Saw a dog running down the street with it's tail between it's legs, maybe that was him. Usually you Conservatives all jump in to defend each other but poor tasker is on his own here with the stupid Austrian school of kook-o-nomicsit looks like, no wonder he ran away, lol. In the US where the import numbers have been meeting and surpassing the demand? I'm confused here because we are importing a lot of beef

I'm confused here because we are importing a lot of beef Not surprised you are confused. It cost more now to import because of the countries that sell to us are also selling to countries that are having higher demand. Mexico for instance sell north and south of it's border. Brazil and Columbia both consume more beef now costing us more at the super market. Do you get that? Canada also sells more to foreign markets and since we buy from them we are going to pay more now. Nanker
Shale oil production is a booming new source of oil and the Saudis have continued to produce at "normal" levels. More oil... cheaper gas. It's $2.65 a gallon here.

Also, those countries - Brazil and one other produce more cattle. We produce more cattle then we consume. Why is beef going up? Because of increased global demand. Are you suggesting there is over production of cattle? Can you back up anything you claim? I used YOUR source to prove my point, now how about showing a link claiming these other countries produce "more" beef, or whatever you are trying to say
