machine gun kelly Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 He was highly productive in Tampa, and just doesn't make sense. It almost feels like Whaley brought him in for depth, and Marrone neve3r liked him. I don't know, but he used to be so effective in the redzone down here.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Yesterday Hackett (I love this guy) said something like the Williams is having good practices but other receivers are playing better...OK .... THEY LOST and DIDNT Get in the End Zone but once. Practice is Not Game..get Wiliams in there!!!! At this point he's another bust.. sit Markglass Goodwin
26CornerBlitz Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I believe the last game he was active in, he had a huge TD He was active in the Minnesota and NYJ games because Goodwin was out. Only got offensive snaps when Woods was out for a while vs. the Vikings.
mountainwampus Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Marrone has proven he has no business being a HC in the NFL. This fiasco is causing irreparable damage to the franchise by the message it sends: Free Agents beware. Coming to Buffalo is career suicide, even if the HC was your college coach.
PortlandiaEast Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 He was active in the Minnesota and NYJ games because Goodwin was out. Only got offensive snaps when Woods was out for a while vs. the Vikings. That would be moronic, if he is active and they don't get him reps. Did graham get more snaps when he was around?
mountainwampus Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 That would be moronic, if he is active and they don't get him reps. Did graham get more snaps when he was around? Marronic is more like it. Yes, TJ got the 2nd most offensive snaps last season behind Woods. It was over 70% of all offensive snaps. Absolutely Marronic.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 That would be moronic, if he is active and they don't get him reps. Did graham get more snaps when he was around? I wish I had an explanation that makes any sense, especially with the RZ offense being dead last in the entire NFL.
BmarvB Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Get him out there in the red zone at the very least. MAKE HIM a threat to respect down there. What's the sense in trading for someone to keep inactive? Let him contribute.
truth on hold Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I'm shocked there hasn't been another thread on Mike Williams. There was earlier, and it started out with a more detailed OP than this one. But for some reason it was closed down. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/173049-what-happened-to-this-guy-we-need-him-kinda-badly/#entry3332026
PortlandiaEast Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 So graham got more snaps than woods last year? and this year they give hogan/woods/goodwin snaps over williams? Nothing against those guys, but thats marrone saying that williams isnt even good enough to suit up come game day compared to them... these are not all pro receivers here! theyre a good bunch but holy crap... try something new in the RZ cuz our standard stinks!
NewEra Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I'm talking about when he is on the field. Yeah. 66 snaps on offense. 1 catch for 42 yards and a TD. 60 ST snaps. 4 KO returns, 21 yards avg. tied for 62nd in the league. 126 snaps. 1 good play. More injuries than good plays. I really like him as a person and think he can be an asset.....if he wasn't so fragile. But he is. I'd try and trade him and hope he still has value.
The Jokeman Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 He was highly productive in Tampa, and just doesn't make sense. It almost feels like Whaley brought him in for depth, and Marrone neve3r liked him. I don't know, but he used to be so effective in the redzone down here. I think what happened is we thought that Woods would be a good slot WR and it turns out he's not we had to shift Woods back to the outside. Of course I feel Watkins in the slot be deadly but instead we keep him on the outside and have Hogan to man the slot.
boyst Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I'm shocked there hasn't been another thread on Mike Williams. yeah, you'd think a guy who is never active on game days should have at least 3 or 4 threads a week.
NewEra Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 The lineup should be Watkins, Hogan, Williams. The lineup should include Roberts woods as the number 2 WR. Anything else is stupid
RealityCheck Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Has anyone seen how Mike Williams has looked in practice? Everyone appears to assume that this guy is a stud being held back, but I haven't heard anyone make reference to what this guy actually looks like on the practice field. I certainly don't know, and I would like to know if there is any first hand knowledge out there to shed light on the situation.

He had a couple week stretch in camp where the media guys were roasting him pretty good. A couple even suggested his spot on the team was in jeopardy. Marrone has said that the guys playing now are simply playing better. GO BILLS!!!
GunnerBill Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Sit Lee Smith... except you can't cos Dangerous Nate has some great 3 TE sets he drew up in his colouring book and they work all the time...... honestly....
26CornerBlitz Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Hopefully he gets a stab at it tonight.
