OldTimer1960 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Aside from 43 points given to the Bills' offense by 6 Jets turnovers, Kyle Orton has led the Bills to 17, 22, 17 and 13 points. But for an epic meltdown by the Lions' K and a miracle catch by Chris Hogan to pull out a home win against a weak Vikings team, Orton's record as a starter would be 1-4. He is clearly not a long-term answer at QB, in spite of what some here have suggested. Heck, another loss at Miami on Thursday and it might be time to go back to Manuel. We know what Orton is after 9 years in the NFL - and that isn't good enough to be a playoff contender even with a very good defense. I know that Manuel wasn't playing well, but he is still young enough to at least *hope* that he could improve.
truth on hold Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) On 4th down in the red zone, if he throws the corner route to Sammy looks like a TD. So why was it thrown short? Was that on Sammy for not coming back or Orton for under throwing it? Edited November 9, 2014 by JTSP

Coach Tuesday Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) I just refuse to believe that a flat-footed journeyman backup who was coaxed out of retirement in mid-August is not the answer to all of our problems. Edited November 9, 2014 by Coach Tuesday

Buffalo Barbarian Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Wasn't his greatest game but let's not get carried away, we had plenty of opportunities to win with blame to go all the way around. If Manuel comes back the season is over
Virgil Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Is Orton the answer to the Bills question about a Franchise QB? No Is Orton the answer to if he should start over EJ? Yes
bobobonators Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Why is there a thread about orton after this game? Who fumbled the game away?
SmokinES3 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Why is there a thread about orton after this game? Who fumbled the game away? Still plenty of guys here on EJ's nuts. It's mind boggling.
TSOL Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Did anyone think Orton was really gonna take us anywhere? And theres a thread for this b/c he missed the throws. Now that "experiment"was a real fun couple of weeks but can we please get back to the kids development now?

You mean Orton would have led them to 23 points today if Bryce Brown doesn't fumble and they would have kicked a FG to ice the game at the end and would have won 23-17. OldTimer1960 Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 Why is there a thread about orton after this game? Who fumbled the game away? Because they scored 13 points at home. That isn't enough to win in the NFL
LeGOATski Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 No one in their right mind thought Orton was the answer. He's just the best available. So may mistakes today...so many...
truth on hold Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 With the fumbles can't pin this on Orton, but his lack of mobility came back to haunt them today. Don't go for it on 4th and a yard, and 4th and a foot. Even pats sneak Brady in those situations.
Dragonborn10 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Wasn't his greatest game but let's not get carried away, we had plenty of opportunities to win with blame to go all the way around. If Manuel comes back the season is over The season is over. They are all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. And that will happen on Thursday.
thewildrabbit Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Kyle Orton is not the major problem with this team, as he didn't fumble the ball away in critical situations. Nor did he make the call to go for it on 4th down with a lot of time on the clock. Kick the FG and its only a one point game.
truth on hold Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 The season is over. They are all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. And that will happen on Thursday. That's not true at all. Win against Miami gets us to 6&4, and all but eliminates Miami. Win 4 of last 6 and get to 10 & 6 and see what happens.
Doc Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Looks that way. Another couple losses and it's time to put EJ back in.
LeGOATski Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 They need to beat one of GB, Denver, or NE. GB is the best chance. I had a dream two nights ago that the Bills upset Denver...
bobobonators Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Because they scored 13 points at home. That isn't enough to win in the NFL And why did they only score 13pts?
