Best steak

Recommended Posts

I have had a few opportunities to sell at local restaraunts but its always a hastle. They do not want to pay reasonable costs, I can excuse regular cost because of bulk, but the cost is completely different when dealing with a smaller operation vs a much larger and developed network - mostly transport costs.

So, just sell what I have to your homes kitchen - nothing fancy.

Do you ship to individuals? What are the costs? I love grass feed beef! Super tasty! There is a rancher in Ramona that has grass feed herds. When I get setup in my new house with a freezer I'm going to buy a steer from him and have it butchered.

Completely understand. I was just wondering if any restaurants had your beef. I can get a great steak and make it at home for a minimal cost. But I understand the OP's position that it has become increasingly difficult to find a great steak at a restaurant, though. I know not everybody is looking for the same thing, but I am looking for great tasting beef---nothing more. I don't need fancy prep, or sauces, though at time they can be enjoyable. To me a great steak takes minimal prep. Give me a good bone-in ribeye and I'm one happy dude. I'm also satisfied with may other cuts, but ribeye is my go-to.

So, just finished watching the Bills game, and know to avoid the "everybody on the team and front office sucks and needs to be fired now" on TSW.

So,I am usually all about the bone in...for any meat. Have a bone in pork butt resting right now.Slow rooasted in the oven...lored in smells good!

But last night, i went boneless ribeye with this method...and dude , it was friggen awesome!,

Ruths Chris is always big on the butter, this is way better than anything i have ever ordered there.

Shipping to the left coast is awful expensive. Chef and I considered it until the cost would have been about $80 just on shipping, then another $20-30 on packaging and such.

If you come to an opener you get it at a great cost if you offer me stromboli's or cook for me. A few members here bought some, Cletus bought two racks of sirloin or something.

I get what you are saying, I guess that's why I was a jerk and went against it. I don't notice much of a difference from steakhouses - Outback, Lonestar, or local places - all about the same to me. They're all precooked.

I have been to a few of the big five star places, Ruth Chris or Chris Ruth whatever, and found everything they served over produced and lacking the true flavor and design of what was offered. A potato simply needs a little butter, some salt, and maybe sour cream. You don't need to garnish it with the rare Arabian herb from the coasts of a special mountain, or boil it in the spring water from the lower Chesapeake.

I guess I just like the country cookin' style of food.

Many times. Last time I went I actually had "meat overload," and so haven't felt like going back in a while. But really good place with some unique menu items. Have you been there?

No, saw it on TV and it looked awesome but you never know.

Do they make a great strait up steak without any weird stuff to mask the flavor?

Anyone been to the Black and Blue? My Daughter has heard its it good but she isn't a big beef eater and hasn't been there.

I have been there and it's a very good experience. I was there on a job interview the first time I was there so I have to admit I don't really remember specific steak details.

I have been there with my wife since for drinks and a snack on date night but we haven't done dinner there as far as I recall since.

Used to love Ricks Prime Rib on Schoen place just a bit down the road.

overpriced and overrated. I used to go there at least once a month when I worked at Ingram Micro. Honestly, if I didn't get free meals all the time I wouldn't spend the money to go there on my own.

Nowadays, the best steak in Buffalo is at Russell's. Used to be Fiamma, but they changed ownership a few times and aren't even open anymore--it's now called "BOSS".

Best steak I've ever had was a 16-oz bone-in filet at Keen's in Manhattan. I normally get the mutton chops when I go there, but this sucker was on special--it had a port wine demiglaze and was served with warm goat cheese and chanterelle mushrooms. Cut it with a butter knife.

Black and Blue has an awesome Filet. That's the only thing I've had there.

My favorite steak was at Russell's. Phenomenal overall dinner. They make you feel like a big shot.

My favorite was sparks in NYC.

Locally, I am not a fan of the Chop House at all, but haven't been there in a few years. I think EB Green's is the best. Danny Sheehan's Steak House in Lockport is very good as well. The Colony in Silver Creek is a little known hidden gem, great food all around, but several very good steak options. I want to try Russell's, but have only done Happy Hours there. A friend swears by Riverstone Grill on Grand Island, it was on Man vs Food a while back, but haven't tried that one yet.

The steak houses in the casino's in Canada are pretty good as well. Lucky's at Casino Niagara and the 21 club in the Fallsview are both excellent steak options.

ok, I am hungry...

Russell's has a nice dinner and room deal. We did it for my girlfriend's birthday. We're not wealthy by any means, but they treat you like royalty. That was my favorite part.

Russell's "Dinner for Two" menu is easily the best deal in town. Steak, app, and dessert for $39 per person, and you don't need to have two of you to order it.

I never have a problem paying top dollar if the food and service are on par with the price. I have heard nothing but good things regarding both at Russell's.

i haven't been there but I think I looked it up before and the place on Grand Island is no longer in business.

Fwiw, I've been to a few places that have been on Man vs Food and they are usually terrible. Just because they are places that serve humongous servings doesn't make them good. For example, The Silo has "The Haystack" and it's absolutely crap compared to good steak subs in the area.

i had Russell's once a few years ago shortly after it opened. It was really good. I wouldn't have rated it as one of my top 5 or maybe even top 10 steaks ever. But it was really good.
