stevewin Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Just caught quick interview around 5:30 pm - Have a good team, led by D. They get turnovers, stop the run, keep us in games. Offense try to be efficient have young playmakers - Transition to Buffalo (football wise) has been pretty seamless. System wise its not that tough to pick up, takes time to get timing with receivers. Works with Hackett to tailor things for what he likes. Receivers stay and run extra routes - Sammy special, speed and route running. Catches every ball with his hands, strong hands. 1-1 coverage he will win most every time - KC D - no easy stuff. Won't expose themselves by doing a lot of exotic stuff. Just go man vs man on line and expect DBs to hold up long enough for pressure to get there. Need to run the ball and keep balanced and get the ball out on time - Hackett - with no huddle last year would have been tough to come in and run that with pace and verbiage etc Decision was made to slow things down, get into huddle etc. Hackett is young and energetic - EJ - I was in same situation, tough pill to swallow, but ultimately made me a better QB. EJ doing a great job dealing with it and learning, has more physical skills that I can only dream of - will be a great QB - Marrone - our personalities click, enjoy time around him. Knows it is a young football team and always tries to bring positive message. - Turns out he is good buddies with Kyle Williams - lived in same neighborhood in louisiana at one time, were golfing buddies
YoloinOhio Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Cool, thanks. Surprised he ever lived in Louisiana.

RuntheDamnBall Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Actually, you have to reside in Louisiana at some point to retain your "Kyle" card.
GG Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Cool, thanks. Surprised he ever lived in Louisiana. That's his off season home now.
bschmoove Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 WGR meanwhile spends a day on the candy draft.
707BillsFan Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Thanks for the info. Pulled in to my driveway minutes before the interview was to start. Didn't feel like sitting there awkwardly during the duration.
stevewin Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 Thanks for the info. Pulled in to my driveway minutes before the interview was to start. Didn't feel like sitting there awkwardly during the duration. Yet that's exactly what I did
Augie Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Thanks. He says all the right stuff, I hope he means it and he's here next year.
CSBill Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 He's a "profession" . . . hopefully he sticks around a few years, and EJ learns everything he can from him (mostly, how to throw the ball decisively and accurately).
boyst Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I hope we play our cards right with this guy. We've bungled a lot of things wrt to QB recently.
Augie Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 We've bungled a lot of things wrt to QB recently. Recently? I think we've done fine the last few weeks. But if you mean The Big Recent (as in a decade and a half), you just may be on to something. I will refrain from whining at this point because I have the most hope since the last time I had hope.

The last decade plus. We handled Todd Collins alright, handled Bledsoe perfectly. That's about it.
Augie Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 The last decade plus. We handled Todd Collins alright, handled Bledsoe perfectly. That's about it. Todd Collins had a good run. Started 21 games in 16 seasons. That's a lot of clipboard holding and check cashing. I trust the current FO to get things on track - including the QB position. You're 100% correct, it's been a decade plus and it's time to move in ther right direction (and get a little luck) for a change!
