Lattimore and Clowney are close friends, i believe they were roommates in college. I speculated as others have that Clowney watched the Lattimore injury and it played a role in how he approached his last year at USC.

Bad luck for Lattimore. He is a quality guy who over came one horrible injury to make it back but couldn't get past this one. Good guy and i think he will have a bright future with out football. I will pull for him.

Definitely. But he could have a bright future in football too. If he wants to coach, scout, do front office, etc. I'm sure he wouldn't have trouble getting a gig that would put him on the track. He seems well respected.

That would be interesting in the NFL. Golf, tennis, even basketball are such very different scenarios. Death is not as easily predicted. Men and boys.Trucks and trycycles. But it may be going that way...

The next logical step would be the nfl being forced to create a minor league those two things would solve a lot of the amatuer athlete problems- suddenly there would be a pro option alongside and a choice for the kids that are elite.

I believe that was the second time he blew his knee (not sure if same). But he was great to watch and a great kid I understand.

Heard it was the other knee the second time. Both were supposedly shot

Don't some of the big names buy injury insurance? I think mcgahee did. At least the schools could set up group insurance plans and pay for it

Lattimore has such a policy. $1.7M is the figure, I think.
