TPS
So I was perusing the Nfl stats as I often do, and came across this fact: the Browns and Bengals rank 28th and 30th in yards given up per game defensively. However, They rank 8th and 17th on points given up per game. My question: Is either of these teams legit or are they both paper tigers?
Ohiostyle
My money would be on Cincy as contenders. Cle just finished a three game stretch against Jacksonville, Oakland and Tampa. That's combined 2-23, and one of those two wins came against... you guessed it... the Browns.
YoloinOhio
I don't know but I just read that Greg Little plays for Cincy now and is yapping about it being a revenge game. Which is a little like TJ Graham laying down in the endzone vs the Bills. You show em, Greg! @nflnetwork: Greg Little is just a little bit fired up for Thursday Night Football: http://t.co/04JwNQQhft #TNF #CLEvsCIN http://t.co/mgU8W2UZtY

I'm reminded of KC last year. Or as some like to describe here, their winning ways are not sustainable...
The Wiz
I would give the Bengals a nod for contender but the browns still have to show me more. To put it in perspective, the browns haven't done anything more than the bills have at this point.

He is just not good enough. When they played at Houston in the playoffs the Titans were begging the Bengals to win the game but Dalton could not make a play. Last year against San Diego in the playoffs he was also awful.

You used a word in there twice that makes them a contender, playoffs. I don't expect them to be a super bowl contender but they are a playoff contender for sure. You are correct sir, playoff contender yes, I am not quite sure they could get over that hump to make the super bowl with Dalton under center. Boatdrinks
The Bengals are certainly a contender for the simple reason that they've made the playoffs every year that Dalton has been under center. Say what you will about Dalton, but that's far more than our Bills can say. The Browns, on the other hand are a different story. Much like the Bills. I don't think the Browns are a true contender, but for some reason I could see us losing at home to them. That would probably all but end our season, but man have we played some ugly games against that team in recent years. Some of the ugliest football in memory, actually. Hope we are truly over that hump. November will make or break us, as it has in the past. We are 6-18 in November since 2008. Can the Bills mange to turn that around? Any shot at the playoffs depends on it.
rsherman12
Bengals are more likely to make the playoffs IMO. However, it might end up being a road game if the Steelers keep up this pace.
Captain Hindsight
The Browns have won against the Titans, in Dramatic fashion no less and struggled to beat the Bucs at home this past week. Other than their win over the steelers, I'm not impressed.
SF Bills Fan
The Bengals have a legitimate playoff contender. The Browns are total pretenders. I expect the Bills to deliver a complete smack-down later this month.

Cleveland Rocks?
Buster Skrine or (gulp) Justin Gilbert vs. Mohammed Sanu ... holy crap I'm going to need a lot of liquid courage to watch this game.
mannc
How is Gilbert doing this year? I was a bit shocked by the pick, especially moving up one slot to take him. There was a lot of other talent still on the board.

TPS
Well, I think we're getting an answer about one of these teams. I'm looking at the Bengals schedule, and if they lose this, I think they spiral downward.
