26CornerBlitz Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Fred Jackson supports Division III athlete in cancer fight Jackson caught wind of Lauren Hill's story a few weeks ago and rushed to support her cause.
Kelly the Dog Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Fred Jackson supports Division III athlete in cancer fight We didn't need any more proof but thanks a lot for the link, 26. Great story. Highly recommend the read.
Deranged Rhino Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Couldn't ask for a better ambassador for the Buffalo Bills or the city of Buffalo itself. Love me some Fred.
MarkAF43 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Fred is awesome. He's an outstanding human being, a tremendous athlete, he's exactly what this city needs. I truly believe we're all better for having him in a Bills uniform and a citizen of our community.
boyst Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) He's been a blessing for WNY humanity better. Edited November 4, 2014 by jboyst62
John from Riverside Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Has their truly been a greater Buffalo Bill player (all around) EVER then Fred Jackson....... This is a serious question
YoloinOhio Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Even Tampa Bob couldn't spin this into a negative.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Why waste anymore time and just put him on the Wall of Fame now.... CBF
MarkAF43 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Even Tampa Bob couldn't spin this into a negative. Give him time, I'm sure he'll make an appearance
TheBillsWillRiseAgain Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 My #1 all-time favorite athlete of any sport, ever.
The Plunge Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Has their truly been a greater Buffalo Bill player (all around) EVER then Fred Jackson....... This is a serious question Nope. There has not. I fell in love with this team in the early 90's. But Fred Jackson is my all time favorite player. Not just for what he does on the field, but for stuff like this. He perfectly epitomizes everything that this franchise means to me. If it were up to me, I would make him the first ever player to be put up on the Wall of Fame while still playing. I suspect that most of the league doesn't really understand how great he is. That act might help in getting him the respect he deserves.
CodeMonkey Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) I was just about to post this story as well. But here is another link about it. http://www.sportingn...d=SOC/FB/SNMain Lauren has showed a lot of class and poise during it all as well. I can't even imagine being that young with terminal brain cancer. Edited November 4, 2014 by CodeMonkey
eball Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Yep, saw it earlier myself. Fred's name should be put on the Ring of Fame the day after he retires. Great Buffalo Bill, even better human.
Mr. WEO Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Jeez, when I first saw the title of the link, I thougth FJ was supporting the "other" Lauren Hill in her cause to stick it to Whitey and The Taxman. Whew! Fred is a great guy for sure.
Cugalabanza Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) Ditto to all the Fred praise in here. He's been so great to root for all these years. It's at the point now where I will spontaneously shout "Fred Jackson!" when something good happens unexpectedly, as an expression of joy. Edited November 4, 2014 by Cugalabanza
Heitz Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 There's a reason I bought a #22 jersey this year - Freddy is one guy on the Bills (heck, in the NFL) that you can be proud to wear his jersey!
zonabb Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 We love the guy because he embodies what is means to be a humble, articulate, giving, hard-working professional human being. The bar is so low in society today, just look at these mudslinging morons up for election today as my phone won't stop ringing (gotta love sleazy politicians exempting themselves from the do not call law), and seemingly lower in the NFL that is so easy to love a guy like this because he appears (I use the term because I don't know him personally, I can only assume) to be the anti-______ fill in the blank idiot, entitled, inarticulate, social deviant NFLer. Yeah that's a broad stroke but we hear more about the bad than the good. Everyday on ESPN it's Ray Rice this, Adrian Petersen that. No Fred Jackson though. So we gravitate to a guy like this and away from the Dez Bryant's (I signed with Jay-Z to be an icon but slapped my mother around); Greg Hardy's, and Aldon Smith's. More Fred Jacksons, fewer Jameis Winstons please.
davspo Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Was there ever a doubt. This guy is not only a true professional, but a great human being. For a long time he was the only guy who kept me interested in the Bills. Hopefully, those days are behind us. FREDDY BELONGS ON THE WALL!!
