YoloinOhio Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) @RapSheet: One important factor as #Texans head into the bye week mulling their QB options: Veteran WR Andre Johnson is a big fan of Ryan Mallett. I thought he had some nice throws yesterday. Guess they need a spark. Edited November 5, 2014 by YoloinOhio
TheFunPolice Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Fitzpatrick has been in Houston what he has always been (including here). He will get hot and have a couple nice games, then go right back to missing open guys, fumbling, throwing picks, and generally being pitiful to watch. But he will scramble and not slide! And the BEARD! Texans fans want him on the bench, because they think he is sinking their season. The "Fitzmagic" people used to say "if ONLY he had a good defense! It's the DEFENSE'S fault! It's the offensive line! It's the water! It's the air!" Well, the Texans have a top defense that is #1 in takeaways. And guess what? Fitzpatrick still stinks. Biggest fraud we ever had to stomach.

Watch out!! Here comes the Fitz fans.
PolishDave Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 What did the texans win last year? Like 2 games or something? They seem to be a bit better this year. Yup...Fitz is the problem....
Mr. WEO Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) 5 career games played. 4 passes attempted. 1 completion. Those are Mallett's stats. What is it that A. Johnson likes the most about that? Edited November 4, 2014 by Mr. WEO

Ummm. The Texans have a bottom 5 defense in terms of total yards allowed per game. They are middle of the pack for points against. Those aren't the things associated with a top defense.
YoloinOhio Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 That's why I was surprised. I don't know how Mallett makes them better, at least this year. Unless they are packing it in now and just want to see what he's got. They are only a game and a half back from the Colts though.
eball Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 5 career games played. 4 passes attempted. 1 completion. Those are Mallett's stats. What is it that A. Johnson likes the most about that? That he's not Fitz.
Maury Ballstein Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Fitz stinks. Arian Foster can only carry the team for so long
Mr. WEO Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 That he's not Fitz. He's no one.... He has one more completion than me.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Doesn't o'brien have the rep of developing QBs? I would think it would be tempting for him to try to turn mallet into a good QB.
Mr. WEO Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Doesn't o'brien have the rep of developing QBs? I would think it would be tempting for him to try to turn mallet into a good QB. Who did he develop--Thad Lewis?

Mr. WEO Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Potential. Something Shitzpatrick doesn't have:) OK Pinocchio...
NDBUFFCUSEFAN Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I loved Fitz during the 2011 season and had no issue with his contract but he always seems to regress back to his mean. I wish he had more talent because he loves the game and seems like a great guy. Awesome backup, meh starter and there is nothing wrong with that.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Who did he develop--Thad Lewis? For some reason, I thought this was hilarious!! Actually, he developed Matt mcgloin into a decent QB. Beyond that, I can't recall-- but I know his rep was as a QB guru.

Coach Tuesday Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 5 career games played. 4 passes attempted. 1 completion. Those are Mallett's stats. What is it that A. Johnson likes the most about that? Probably the completion.

You just summed up what all of the fans of Orton's teams think of him. Fitz is limited but he is not the problem with that team. It's amazing how much hype Mallett gets.
