ricojes Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I'm 7 episodes into the latest Homeland season and I am really enjoying it. There are a lot of layers to the story. I hate seeing Quinn in his condition, but looks like he's coming around quickly.
Wooderson Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I was just about to ask if anyone has started it. I'm hoping it is better than Luke Cage was. For me, that one kind of dragged on a bit after they mixed things up a bit at the midpoint. I'd say it's better than Luke Cage so far. Still not as good as Daredevil or Jessica Jones though. I do think the recurring characters is pretty cool. Rosario Dawson is in all of them, and Carrie-Anne Moss makes another appearance. I'd like to retract my previous statement re: Iron Fist. I thought it started out well, or maybe I just liked it because it was a new character that I was not familiar with but the last few episodes just seemed to dragggg on. The second half bad guy (no spoilers) just didn't do it for me. He wasn't believable as being a true threat to Danny, IMO. Also, guy's coming back from the dead several times...blah. I've never read any of the comics but the show just didn't do it for me. Seems like Marvel hit it out of the park with Daredevil but has been slowly declining ever since.
shrader Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I'd put Jessica Jones right up there with Daredevil. Both of those shows really brought their A game with the main villains. Cage definitely lacked there and I'm starting to get the impression that Iron Fist is similar. I haven't started it yet though.

That Punisher fight scene in jail was pretty epic. NSFW
plenzmd1 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I am watching this Joan Crawford _Betty Davis show..Fued is the name I believe. Pretty campy, but fun show to watch.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Just started watching Veep. Pretty funny CBF
RaoulDuke79 Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm going to try and make it a point to watch Brockmire on IFC. Looks pretty funny and Amanda Peet is easy on the eyes.
Deranged Rhino Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Just started watching Veep. Pretty funny CBF It keeps getting better too. Just wait until you meet Sam Richardson.
Special K Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Just started watching Veep. Pretty funny CBF Season 6 of Veep starts tonight. Season 3 of Fargo starts on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to them both!!
Johnny Hammersticks Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Just started watching Crashing on HBO. Comedy series produced by Judd Apatow about an aspiring comedian in NYC. I don't want to give away any more, but it has been pretty good. Nothing too great, but worth a watch. Artie Lange looks like walking death.
BUFFALOKIE Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Just started "The 100" last night. Maybe just a little Hunger Gamesish, but like the overall plot much better. So far it has been very good IMO.

/dev/null Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I recently finished The White Queen on Amazon Prime. Kind of a wannabe Game of Thrones based off an historical fiction series set against The War of the Roses
shrader Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I'm 4 or 5 episodes into Iron Fist. I'm not seeing all the hate for the character that I've seen so often. It makes sense to me. He left the real world when he was a kid and now he has no idea how it works. He's still very much the kid he was before the crash... except for the crazy ninja skills.

Yeah I didn't get the hate, but I think it would have been cool to see him go through all of his training (perhaps that will be a later season like a flashback). The biggest complaint I heard was that most people hated the fight scenes, it wasn't as good as Daredevil or Jessica Jones imo but I still liked it overall

Cugalabanza Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 In Treatment on Amazon. One of my favourites. Gabriel Byrne is an analyst/psych in private practice I'll second this. I loved this show. I thought it was very well done. I could see how some people wouldn't like it though. I recommended it to a friend and he was like, meh, not for me.
boyst Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Artie seems to be ready to pack it in, follow him on twitter and he keeps making comments that indicate his time is soon no! for real? baby gorilla?! when he left it was the essential end of the stern show as it had been forever. he made the show great. jd might be the only thing entertaining on a regular basis there. and the more they lean on takei the more boring he gets. it was just too much with jason ellis the other day.
TPS Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 My wife just got me watching Fortitude on Amazon prime. Highly recommend it. Set on a small island off Norway and strange things begin happening. Has Stanley Tucci and Michael Gambon in it. I went through season 1 the past 3 days (12 episodes) and just starting season 2, which is as far as it goes to date.
