26CornerBlitz Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Winston has already said he's returning to FSU next season. There's no way he's back at FSU next season.
YoloinOhio Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Winston has already said he's returning to FSU next season. he changed his mind with all the investigation stuff at FSU http://www.si.com/college-football/2014/10/19/jameis-winston-nfl-draft-florida-state
QCity Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Winston will stay in school if he's convinced he's a 2nd round pick. Yep, they need to mess up and win a few. That's what the really horrible teams do... and it's how they stay horrible. The Sabres will get the 3rd pick this year. You know it's coming.
I'm Spartacus Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 screw the Jets - crap owner; crap GM; crap fans; don't even have their own stadium; don't even play in the state they represent. mickey mouse franchise. Don't let Jimmy Spags read this!
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 That's all i have to say during this bye week. I want the Jets to continue to stink but not bad enough to draft in the top 5 of 2015. Winston in particular would be a franchise-altering pick imo. He's that good. Therefore I'll root for NY to get a couple wins that would help us out starting with this weekend at Kansas City. They still have a chance to get at least one of them, lets just hope they bust for them I think Winston and NYC is a bad, bad mix.
KD in CA Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I think Winston and NYC is a bad, bad mix. I think it's a great mix. High likelihood of entertainment, low likelihood of success.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I'd be more worried if they draft Connor Cook. Cook is waiting for us in 2016 to come out
boyst Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Several storylines would interest me in Winston going to the Jets. 1) Does Vick stay? If so, I would be interested to see Vick becoming a mentor to Winston. The guy is set up to be someone to listen to - look at all he has been thru - and Winston may take to getting under his wing. 2) Will Winston return to FSU? No way. 3) Winston would have all the spotlights of the city on him. All the pressure in the world on him. That's tough for a young kid to take - which I would love since they are a rival. 4) I would bet he does not want to go to the Jets. Who would want to?
Kelly the Dog Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Anyone have any good ideas for a bunch of us getting together into an angry mob and taking this issue into our own hands?
bobobonators Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 What position do you guys want the Bills to address next year in the 2nd/3rd round? I'd be fine with any position on the OL in the 2nd round and maybe a TE in the 3rd. Or flip/flop that.
Bangarang Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I hope they get Winston. Will just be another huge fail for a division opponent. Thinking the same thing. I find Winston to be grossly overrated and in for a rude awakening once he reaches the NFL.

We gave away our 4th in 2015 but got one for Steve Johnson. We also have an extra 5th from Tampa. I am fine with trading a 6th or 7th to move back up to the 5th. With the 5th round I would like to find a good DB. The rest of the draft - QB or RB or DL or OLB. Always need DL youth for depth.

boyst Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 That sounds good to me jboy RB does not worry me yet despite Brown, Spiller and Jackson all very close to the end of their contracts and ending at the same time.

Who would want to? teach him how to fumble and throw INTs?...QBs don't want to mentor. They want to play.

YoloinOhio Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 http://blogs.buffalo...the-2015-draft/ Not sure but Chris Brown sayeth. me likey: "They do have the potential to have eight total picks in 2015 if Stevie Johnson hits certain statistical marks in San Francisco in 2014 because the fourth rounder they received from the 49ers will turn into a third and the conditional pick they would owe Philadelphia (4th rounder) would move ahead to 2016."
mannc Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) We hear the same thing every year around this time "We need Taj Boyd" or "I can't believe we're going to miss out on Bridgewater" or even "Johnny Football would be our franchise QB". Mariota and Winston are nothing more than this year's version of "the new popular Christmas toy". They are not Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning (guaranteed franchise QB's). Don't sweat it. Not true. Both these guys are far better than anyone who was available in this past draft. Both are big, athletic and extremely accurate. Even with his off-field problems, I think Winston has a chance to be a top-two pick, but there is certainly some risk, especially when you are talking about making him the face of your franchise. There is no question that the Jets will go into full tank-mode in order to draft one of these guys--if they haven't already. The bad news for them is that there will be plenty of competition. On the other hand, the consolation prize (Amari Cooper) is not too shabby. Neither one will do **** in the pros And you know that because . . . ? Edited October 31, 2014 by mannc
