26CornerBlitz Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Bills Focus: Kiko Alonso's Road to Recovery (5:31) Chris Brown caught up with linebacker Kiko Alonso to talk about the road back from his serious knee injury, what he thinks of the progress of the team on the field, and what is next in the rehab process. Kiko Alonso progressing, but a lot of ground to cover Now three months removed from ACL surgery the Bills linebacker is making steady progress with his rehab.
YoloinOhio Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Thanks for this. I was hoping he could be back in about 10 days to growl at Jamaal Charles and blow up all his screens again for a loss.

They have to neutralize Charles and make Alex Smith attempt to win the game.
PearlHowardman Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Just how do you come up with a name like 'Gorilla Monsoon'?
Dorkington Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I was holding out hope that he could play towards the end of the year, helping a playoff push, but it sounds like they are on a time table of missing the season... womp womp.
Hapless Bills Fan Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I was holding out hope that he could play towards the end of the year, helping a playoff push, but it sounds like they are on a time table of missing the season... womp womp. I really think that's best. There is such a thing as "football shape", and we don't need Kiko to come out rusty and get hurt again for next season.
TheBillsWillRiseAgain Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Zero chance he plays this year, even if the Bills somehow made the Sueprbowl. They'd never risk re-tearing his ACL by rushing him back. They're probably targeting getting him able to train at full capacity during the early-to-mid offseason on his own, well before camp starts.
PromoTheRobot Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Interesting what Brown wrote about the return window. Kilo has till Nov 21 to participate, even minimally, in a practice. That gives him another 21 days to get ready to play. So if he's ready in 6 weeks he can play. But it doesn't sound hopeful.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) The emergence of Preston Brown as a solid contributor to the Bills' defense is easing the impact of not having Kiko on the field this season. Let him get fully healthy and be ready to roll in 2015. Edited October 30, 2014 by 26CornerBlitz
TheBillsWillRiseAgain Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I just want to state for the 50th time how freaking excited I am to see Kiko and Preston Brown on the field at the same time. Whether it's Spikes or Bradham rounding out the 3rd LB spot, they're going to be one of the best LB corps in the entire league next year imho.
BuffaloBill Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I am glad he is not trying to rush it. I hope he plays in a Bills uni for a long and productive career.
aristocrat Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Once he starts cutting he's close right? I don't want him rushed either but if he's running there is a possibility of him being ready in two months. I'd say the odds of him playing are in the 5-10 percent though.
Dirtbag Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 that video should have concluded with kiko preparing a gazpacho consisting of chunky hearty tomato and pasta soup, a dollop of sour cream, and a touch of dill.
TheBillsWillRiseAgain Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 He's such a beast I'm surprised he hasn't won defensive MVP of the week sometime this season despite being on IR.
Kelly the Dog Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 In all honesty, I really think it is one of those things like why Clark Kent never takes his glasses off when people are around. No one knows he is Superman. No one anywhere can tell he is Superman when he has the glasses on. How could they? So if he takes them off, the whole thing is blown forever. Kiko could come back right now, but the whole thing would be blown. So he has to go through this charade for awhile.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Just how do you come up with a name like 'Gorilla Monsoon'? He was old time pro wrestler and then announcer.

IDBillzFan Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Just how do you come up with a name like 'Gorilla Monsoon'? That is the answer to the question "Can you name the only man in history who has the unusual distinction of having wrestled Muhammed Ali and boxed with Andre the Giant?"
