Deranged Rhino Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 But there's a first time for everything: http://thebiglead.com/2014/10/29/utah-high-school-football-game-has-the-most-unbelievable-ending-you-will-ever-see/ This was a playoff game apparently... oops.
BringBackFergy Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That poor QB...he's gotta feel like crap. The coach had to have told him "just run around for 3.7 seconds and then lay down" but the kid wasn't thinking. Geez
The Underdog Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Thats taking hiding in plain sight to a whole new level... I wonder if Hackett drew that play up.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That poor QB...he's gotta feel like crap. The coach had to have told him "just run around for 3.7 seconds and then lay down" but the kid wasn't thinking. Geez Agree; feel bad for him. That is a mistake that will gnaw at him for the rest of his life.
ExiledInIllinois Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 It should have been drawn in the play that the moment the clock expired, drop and cover up... Or in this case get out of bounds. Maybe it wasn't hammered home. Yep, he should have known, but it is the coaches job to hit home the obvious. I wonder if the coach did that (hit home the obvious). Probably not. Could have been worse. How do you ask? From reading it first, I was expecting the QB watched time expire and then flung the ball in the air for celebration. Boy would that have been even more gut wrenching if you were the Spanish Fork Dons.
BringBackFergy Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Hard to top this ending. That was a great game.
Jim in Anchorage Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That was a great game. I watched it live.on TV. Envied every one running on the field. Must have been like being in times square on V-J day.
BillsFanM.D. Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Ugh. Nothing else to add here. Feel terrible for him.
ICanSleepWhenI'mDead Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Had to laugh at one of the comments: "The Jets just found their next QB."
BillsFanM.D. Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I don't. He's a dumbass. You heartless bas+@rd...
ExiledInIllinois Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Jim Marshall ran the wrong way. Players made mistakes on "live ball" kick-offs. This kid is only in High School. Not sure if the coach advised him, but the coach should have been a narotic mess beating the procedure to kill time and KNEEL into his team's (and Qb's) head... Did he? It was a three point game even if he ran for the safety. The Coach: "Just keep on running through the endzone... "Don't lose that ball!" "I repeat: DO NOT LOSE THAT BALL." A good coach will continue to state the obvious!
Dante Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Don't let the Bills see this tape. They will scout this guy. Choice of qb's not so great.
Captain Hindsight Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) Agree; feel bad for him. That is a mistake that will gnaw at him for the rest of his life. Doubtful. If he keeps looking back to his glory days of high school football he has big issues Edited November 2, 2014 by Captain Hindsight
