1billsnut Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Thats It!!!! I have seen enough of this!!! It has gone far enough...this country needs to step up and ban ex-baseball players!!!!
Nick the Greek Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Why does he need a gun? My thoughts on this are Jose is a jacked juice head. He doesn't need a gun because he could kill just about anyone with his bare hands.
NoSaint Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 oh please... don't be a supporter of the safe act. I like guns but I don't like HIM owning a gun.
mrags Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I like guns but I don't like HIM owning a gun. well done.
Jim in Anchorage Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I honestly think it's more about determining whether one is mentally healthy enough to safely own a firearm. I realized bad guys will find ways to get their hands on guns. No laws are going to change that. I just want there to be a system in place that results in guns legally ending up with people who have no business owning them. I don't think a semi-automatic weapon is necessary for self-defense. And if someone wants to own one for target shooting fun, then leave it at the range; locked up and secure. I'm not for removing guns from anyone, either. I'd just like to see some changes moving forward that allow people to be able have firearms for protection and for recreation. There's got to be some give and take from both sides of this issue. The end result should be easily agreed upon, in my opinion. To keep it safe from yourself?
mrags Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 To keep it safe from yourself? yeah. Makes sense. On that note. If we keep passing laws to ban certain weapons, etc... Where does it end? In the end, it's all about the government taking away a right.
Beerball Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 To be fair, if someone posed me the question "What baseball player would consider most likely to shoot himself while cleaning a loaded gun?" I'd have answered "Jose Canseco" with barely a second's thought. Has anyone ever credited Canseco with a surfeit of brains? Not since the ball hit him in the head and bounced over the fence for a home run. yeah. Makes sense. On that note. If we keep passing laws to ban certain weapons, etc... Where does it end? In the end, it's all about the government taking away a right. I'm pretty sure PPP.
NDBUFFCUSEFAN Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Oh man a thread where rags and gug are both wrong, my favorite!
Gugny Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 To keep it safe from yourself? To keep it safe from being stolen by someone who could do bad things with it.
Jim in Anchorage Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 To keep it safe from being stolen by someone who could do bad things with it. What could they do with your shotgun?
Gugny Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 What could they do with your shotgun? They could shoot one shot before having to re-load.
Jim in Anchorage Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 They could shoot one shot before having to re-load. So you have a break open single shot? How about a double barrel shotgun? Is that OK in your personal assessment of allowed shots loaded in a gun?
Beerball Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 I'll give this another try. If y'all want to ridicule Canseco this is the thread for you. If you want to get into deeper discussions take 'em to PPP.
Gugny Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I'll give this another try. If y'all want to ridicule Canseco this is the thread for you. If you want to get into deeper discussions take 'em to PPP. This try was way better than your first attempt. That was a little weak.
Jim in Anchorage Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 This try was way better than your first attempt. That was a little weak. I will be happy to pursue this with you on PPP. In fact I will start a new thread.
Gugny Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I will be happy to pursue this with you on PPP. In fact I will start a new thread. I PMd you. Pursuing this on PPP will be counterproductive.
ICanSleepWhenI'mDead Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) Back to Jose Canseco - - I think he got eliminated from this competition in an early heat - - the final event and medal stand scene at the end crack me up: Edited October 30, 2014 by ICanSleepWhenI'mDead
Deranged Rhino Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I've worked with Jose. This couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
Nanker Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I hope Justin Bieber is next. I thought you'd have said Tom Petty. "I honestly think it's more about determining whether one is mentally healthy enough to safely own a firearm. I realized bad guys will find ways to get their hands on guns. No laws are going to change that. I just want there to be a system in place that results in guns legally ending up with people who have no business owning them. " An Intarwebs classic right there. Wish Jim's Flintknocker link was around. Feral pigs. The scourge of the South. That was an eye-opener. Maybe the citizenry would feel a lot safer if all Cops were issued a single bullet that they couldn't load until they needed it. That's how Andy of Mayberry kept Barney Fife in line - and the citizens of Mayberry safe.
