26CornerBlitz Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 at NFL.com Game Preview CBS Sports Game Preview What to watch for in Chargers-Broncos 'TNF' clash Two of the NFL's premier quarterbacks square off Thursday night with first place on the line in the AFC West. Find out what else to watch for as the Chargers take on the Broncos. Agent's Take: Philip Rivers is on his way to joining the $20 million QB club What a difference 15 months makes. When the San Diego Chargers opened training camp in 2013, Philip Rivers was at a career crossroads. Two straight disappointing seasons had taken him out of discussions about elite quarterbacks. His 47 turnovers during the 2011 and 2012 seasons were the most of any player besides Mark Sanchez.
YoloinOhio Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Brandon Flowers is officially out, which is terrible for SD.
Mr. WEO Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Brandon Flowers is officially out, which is terrible for SD. I don't think it would have changed the outcome for him to have played. SD to be dismantled anyway tonight.
YoloinOhio Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I don't think it would have changed the outcome for him to have played. SD to be dismantled anyway tonight. i think it will be a Denver win as well. They look great on both sides of the ball. Flowers has made a big difference in SDs secondary this year though (along with Verrett) and they need all the help they can get in this game. Injuries catching up to SD.
Mr. WEO Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 SD hasn't faced a quality QB since they played Seattle. Last week they couldn't handle the Chiefs.
eball Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 If we're talking about the Bills' playoff prospects I think we want Denver to run away with that division. The bloom certainly appears to be off the Chargers' rose.

The bloom certainly appears to be off the Chargers' rose. Truth - we need SD to lose as many games as possible from here on out (except, maybe Pats*).
FluffHead Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 all your responses are a perfect example of why san diego is the play if youre putting Scooby snacks on the line tonight.
FireChan Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 San Diego has the blueprint and the QB who can keep the ball out of Peyton's hands for 40 minutes. San Diego will deliver the second and final loss the Broncos will have all year.
negativo Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Manning has historically struggled with SD. Chargers coming off an agonizing upset loss to KC and will be loaded for bear. Broncos are coming down from the Manning TD record love-fest/beat-down of SF on Sunday night. I like the Chargers 30-24.

FireChan Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 SD plays them again though... Can't win em all.
I'm Spartacus Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I enjoy watching Manning & Rivers (2 very good teams), as much as the next guy, but it seems like they are on EVERY MAJOR TIME-SLOT every week! Let's give someone else a try - a really good matchup, like...Raiders vs. Jags or someting!
rsherman12 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 San Diego has the blueprint and the QB who can keep the ball out of Peyton's hands for 40 minutes. San Diego will deliver the second and final loss the Broncos will have all year. So you are picking the road team in each game. Interestingly, that's what happened last season.
Clippers of Nfl Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I do love me some Rivers though... You like qbs who throw like girls?
Fan in San Diego Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I cant see SD winning this game. Denvers Def. is much improved.
YoloinOhio Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I cant see SD winning this game. Denvers Def. is much improved. That was my thought. Denver's D is miles ahead on D from where they were last year when they played this game. SD's D is better as well, but missing Flowers hurts. If SD can somehow control the clock and keep Manning off the filed again then they will surprise me and more power to them. I think McCoy had so much knowledge of Manning's "weaknesses" and their offense last year with Adam Gase still there, that it really helped as well.
