bowery4 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 A lot, his line needs to improve a lot though too.
Webster Guy Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) Yeah he doesn't have great pocket presence and certainly didn't have much of a pocket today at all. I think once in awhile he's going to need to tuck it and scramble for some yards and slide to avoid the hits. The poor guy is getting pummeled, and the worst part about it was that Cordy Glenn had his first bad day in a long time, so not only was he getting the usual pocket collapse like we've had since Levitre left, but he also had the blindside issues as well because we could not handle those twists and stunts from the left side. He never seems to care much though. Tough dude. If we block like that against the Jets, Richardson and Wilkerson will kill poor Orton. We aren't going to fix it in a week, so we'd damn well better be able to run the rock and stay out of 3 and longs or we'll lose in NY. Edited October 20, 2014 by Webster Guy
devldog131 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I don't know how many hits Orten can take, but that Orton guy looks pretty tough.

Our bright spots on the line are fading.
thewildrabbit Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Stuff like that happens when there is no continuity, and the good players on the line suddenly need to worry about other players doing their job correctly. Both Wood and Glenn benefited from the better play at LG from Levitre because they only needed to be concerned about their own jobs. I have no idea why Whaley hasn't figured out how to evaluate O line talent, or brought in some decent players to help the situation. If that Orten guy does go down with a serious injury I think we can forget about this year.

Marrone was suppose to be a OL specialist and who better to listen to but your head coach. I was hating Marome all game until literally the last second of the game.
Hplarrm Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 As we saw with Jax and Spiller today, the HC and GM need to plan like it is the next hit which will be the one which knocks Orton out of the game. However, the great players are ones who ignor this and play with virtual certainty of their health. EJ better be ready as there is pretty clear likelihood he has not started his last game s a Bill.
bmur66 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 The better question is how many times can he get up?
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) hers as slow, immobile QB who can't escape the rush oh and too old to be getting hammered like that Edited October 20, 2014 by BillsFan-4-Ever
C.Biscuit97 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I'll never question his toughness. Just like with Fitz. Our oline is bad but he's not helping things either. But he is plenty tough.
