Sadly better than most new metal bands, emo and pig squeal have ruined metal on top of they couldn't put a good riff together to save there lives.

I know its not real metal, I just like the show. I'm getting too old to keep up with all these categories of music nowadays.

i don't know if this band was brought up yet or not, but i didn't want to dig through all posts to find it. i just recently started getting into Lamb of God. a little late to the party, i know. but these guys are pretty good.

Just saw Lamb of God open for Slipknot last month. They were really good.

i am a bit out of touch with music in general lately. i had never really listened to them and then i am introduced to them and find out not only are they good, but they have about a guzillion albums. i am really liking these guys a lot. the drummer is freaking phenominal. that show must have been a little bit crazy, those bands are both pretty high energy.

this is definitely not my thing. i guess i go for a "softer" approach to metal. something a little less abbrasive with a groove and an edge, but still enough to get the "metal" job done.

I like all kinds of metal from thrash, grindcore to death. The new "deathcore and metalcore" suck. I didn't want to be one of those olds guys who didn't like the kids music but unfortunately I am but it's not me it's just bad. For me the 90's had the best metal

what kinds of bands fall in to these "metalcore" and "deathcore" catagories? i am not quite sure what that is, but we may be on completely opposite ends of the metal spectrum here.

Totally not my kind of music. Lamb of God was band 3 of 4 that night. All sounded the same. Although Lamb of God had the most talent; then Bullet for My Valentine. Then Slipknot. I went for my son. Never again, though.

Now Sabbath at MSG ... That is a show I want to see.

Chris Adler is a phenomenal drummer but it's unclear whether you'll see him with Lamb of God down the road as he was tapped to play skins for Megadeth - he will record their new album and tour with them.

good lord...megadeth?!?!?! they have been an annoying nazal whine for far, far too long. i liked that stuff way back in the early 90s, but metal has come so far since then. this seems to be bordering on blasphemy. drummers are truly the heart and soul of a band.

i really love this song. positive energy abound!

Wow, that sounds like nickelback

metalcore is like parkway drive , Deathcore is the "Nu" deathmetal with pig squeal and bad riffs, sometimes thes guys put some good stuff together like the slow heavy riffs but they are to chaotic to keep the rhythm rolling.

Metal should be real simple, if your head doesn't go up and down it sux

Rammstein's "Mein Teil" is about the same thing.

Megadeath is awesome and one of the early thrash pioneers, They could be heavier though. the only thrash better than them is Slayer (best thrash ever) and Metallica.

Awfully opinionated whilst being completely incorrect.

My son has been listening to a band called Acid Bath. They've got some talent. But they do too much of that screaming/growling crap for me. They do have a few songs in which the singer actually sings and they sound really good whilst doing that, in my opinion.

Incidentally, my mother bought him an Acid Bath t-shirt with one of their album covers on it. Well, the album cover is the clown painting by none other than John Wayne Gacy. So not only can he not wear it to school, but he can't wear it whenever he's with me in public.

such as?

Dave Mustaine is by far and away the godfather of thrash metal. Without the songs he wrote, it's likely Metallica's first album wouldn't have been nearly as successful:

Jump in the Fire

The Four Horsemen

Metal Militia

Phantom Lord

Easily the best songs on that album.

Slayer? Not even in the same league. Hell, back then I'd rather have listened to Anthrax than Slayer.

I mean, I get you like down-tuned growl metal. But to say THAT is the only way metal should be is just...well, stupid. You ignore sludge, math, prog, industrial. All of which are legitimately metal and infinitely more listenable.

What part of megadeth was awesome didn't you understand.

Sorry slayer is way better.

If you like those other styles great, not my cup of tea, to each his own.
