Peter Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 always like Nelson. Was a solid player and an even better person. On this, we totally agree.
C.Biscuit97 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 We only have 4 healthy WR's right now and Nelson is a better WR then both Hogan and Easley IMO He's better than Easley but he pretty much is Hogan. I love the dude as a person but he is a pretty average receiver. It also proves the NFL really doesn't care about character. Nelson is about a good of a human being as there is in the world. It'd be a better place if we had more Da I'd Nelsons. I wish him the best of luck.

truth on hold Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 He's just too slow and not athletic enough. His off field character may be high, but as an NFL-WR he's a dime a dozen at best. With Chan gone, there's no connection to the offensive scheme. Definitely no need to use a roster spot on him

I do like him as a depth guy (in a pinch, if we had an injury)... not a starter.
fansince88 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 May be considered dumb but could he convert to Tight End? Couldn't be worse than Lee Smith.
YoloinOhio Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 May be considered dumb but could he convert to Tight End? Couldn't be worse than Lee Smith. kinda skinny
transient Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Nelson could be the league MVP through 6 weeks... if it was 1987, that is.
Fixxxer Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 He probably blocks better than Chandler and without a flag (looking at you Lee Smith)
ALF Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Good guy, but we are set at WR. 6'5 is a nice target
VirginiaMike Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I like Nelson a lot and he may be a better receiver than Easley, but Easley is a beast on special teams and that is important as well. Special teams are why Easley is on the team at all and they are an important part of the game. unless Nelson can play on our woeful O-line, we don't need him
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I loved Nelson when he was here. He is a solid slot/possession WR. But I have no faith that the staff will know how to effectively use him; they would probably just have him run bombs all day.

Nelson prob not so much.
