jethro_tull Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) van was special. we were lucky to have him. not only capturing those memorable bills moment-s he was also a very good nba play by play announcer for the braves and really new the game of basketball. i think he did some college basketball too- maybe canisius? heck- he was an outstanding game show host too on the old "it's academic". murph is good- and i like mark kelso too- but van was once a millenium. you realize after watching / listening to other citiy's local broadcasters how lucky we were. heck, even most national broadcasters are horrid. Fadingpain Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Van Miller was great and I miss him. John Murphy is HORRIBLE.
Deranged Rhino Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Van Miller was great and I miss him. John Murphy is HORRIBLE. It's an impossible task to follow a legend. Murph does the best he can.
Fadingpain Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 It's an impossible task to follow a legend. Murph does the best he can. Yes, but that is not what I mean. Murph is not terrible b/c he follows a legend in WNY. He is terrible because he is just terrible. Some day when I am in the mood I'll write an entire post on it. I listen to this guy on the radio every week, with no TV coverage, and he is just atrocious at his job. I mean he is really, really bad.
