Big C Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 The strategy works when the QB isn't Tom Brady. How do you not blitz on 3rd and 15 to get the ball back? He had too much time and it ultimately ended the game. That and not having AW clearly hurt us today. Kudos to the run D, though.
Max997 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Schwartz was clearly coaching scared today but if you are getting picked apart anyway what harm will blitzing do?
Coach Tuesday Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Schwartz is a Greggo clone - smarter than everyone, according to himself.
PearlHowardman Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Makes NO difference against the Patriots. None. Nada. As long as Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are on the Patriots, the Bills have a problem that will never be solved. 2014 Round 1 went to the Patriots. 2014 Round 2 will go to the Patriots, too.
Big C Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 Pearl, I'm not saying all game long we needed to blitz. I'm saying on 3rd and 15, you have to blitz, make him at the very least throw quick and rely on your other guys to make the tackle short. We had a chance to tie the game.
The Dean Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I think that Pettine blitzed too much. Schwartz not enough. Did particularly like the look of the D today.
Big C Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 The run D was again phenomenal, but Brady will exploit any weakness. It was our secondary today.

I don't think we did have a chance to tie the game. Belichick and Brady know exactly what they are doing every time they face the Buffalo Bills. Every. Single. Time.

I'd whine about the refs, but when you get thumped as bad as the bills did today, it doesnt matter. Penalties kept a couple drives alive, but most of the time the Bills simply couldnt stop Brady. At least this should probably end our annual circlejerk that THIS IS THE YEAR WE TURN THE CORNER ON THE PATS. Until we can beat them, we don't deserve a sniff of the playoffs. The good news is, our 2nd round pick just got a little better. I wonder if they should just forfeit the next pats game and save everyone the trouble.

Nitro Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Guys, I will beat this drum, the book on Brady is bring pressure up the middle. I live in Indy and that is how their defense handled Brady. Many times with success. The defense looked very vanilla today. After a great first half they got pounded. Next week it is Minnesota. 2 home losses is a kick in the gut for the fans.
Uncle Monkeyhead Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Yup....op, I feel the same way, but not only on that 3rd and long. And how do you have a rook on gronkowski in that situation? Also the zebras were once again very predictable with some horsh*+ calls to kill us on both sides of the ball in crucial situations
Sojourner Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Where was Hughes for the majority of those final two drives by the Pats*? I like Lawson but he doesn't have the speed or pursuit of Hughes.
Fadingpain Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) "Coaching Scared" is topic 2C(1)(a) on page three of the NFL coaching handbook. It is just ahead of "When in doubt, punt." The tools we have running this team follow that rule book very, very closely. Tells you what you need to know about the Bills pass rush today and blitzing. It's obvious, isn't it? NoSaint Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Schwartz is a Greggo clone - smarter than everyone, according to himself. Except Schwartz is no blitz and Gregg blitzed a ton
