I honestly never watched him play at Seattle, but heard he was a beast. I looked him up and realized he was a UDFA with the Broncos, got hurt, then played in the CFL before going to Seattle and bursting onto the scene. Had a huge year in 2011 but then slowly went down from there and then the PED busts and suspensions. He is huge at 6'4, 220 for a corner, but not very fast (4.63). Seems more like a safety, but I read the Pats* plan to move Dennard to the slot and play Browner on the outside? Anyone know how he matches up with our WRs? Would Mike Williams be the best matchup for us here, assuming Revis is on Watkins and Dennard on Woods? Edited October 6, 2014 by YoloinOhio

Pneumonic Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Most likely Browner will be slowly eased into things with focus paid to specific WR's. His best skill is as a press corner where he uses his size and strength to jam his WR at the line, interrupting the timing of the play, while routing the WR to the sideline where only a very good pass can cause trouble. Kinda like how Revis played AJ Green last night.

So this might work to our advantage to try to throw to guys he's covering to draw flags if the completion can't be made.

Possibly but my guess is he'll be used mostly as press man up at the LOS and not as a cover guy. He'll be used to take away the quick outside pass and he'll set the edge and pass off coverage behind him to the safeties who, because Revis is in lock down m2m coverage on the other side, should be in great position to cover for the deep ball (the risk with m2m). Having Revis on the other side should free Browner up to do what he does best.
