Bryce Paup Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) For a guy to comeback to the NFL after he was drinking Jack Daniels on his couch thinking about retirement.. His first game back he puts up better numbers than Aaron Rodgers vs the NFL's number 1 rated defense.. He looked a bit rusty on his first couple drives and had the pick six.. but once he started getting into a rhythm he showed that this offense can be very dangerous.. once he builds a chemistry with his receivers I'm very excited about the potential we have with Orton going forward.. I know its only one game.. but you have to be somewhat optimistic about where this team can go if he continues to play like he did Sunday minus the pick six Edited October 6, 2014 by Bryce Paup
26CornerBlitz Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 He was on the Dallas' roster last season. He's not coming back to the NFL. Â Definitely comeback player of week 5. Â
SJ Bills backer Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 No comeback player awards at this time. Just thank the powers that be that ww have a great FG kicker while Detroit does not. That's why we won.
Dorkington Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) If Kyle was eligible (ie, if he had enough starts), he would be ranked 30th in ESPN's total QBR.  http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr  Handing him an award is a little premature. He played better than EJ, and that might be all that we need, but that's still bottom quarter of the league levels...  (His best year as starter, his QBR is 52.7 would rank him as 25th this year, for what it's worth) Edited October 6, 2014 by Dorkington
Bryce Paup Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 Comeback player meaning his career is revived and rejuvenated and for being a career back up most of his career.. if he continues to help this team win and get us to the playoffs that award would make sense
Gugny Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 PFT @ProFootballTalk 2min  "Kyle Orton has been named the NFL's Comeback Player of Week 5's Early Games' Second Half"
C-Man Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Easy fella. We win two games and people think we won the division. Orton has one good game, and this? Â I thought that San Diego was a statement game and looked what happened? New England? We MUST win this. We MUST change the culture of the team...

CodeMonkey Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 A couple of these Orton threads are pretty humorous considering so far he has played one good half of football
Buftex Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Relax people... don't get too far ahead of yourselves... Â As the great Merle Haggard once sang, "I'm always on a mountain when I fall..."

nucci Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Good thing we don't overreact week to week around here
youngjebrey Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Im 100% on the Orton train. Will I eventually be disappointed? Maybe, but until then Orton is a probowler with that mustache! Viva la Orton!
26TrapDraw Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 amazing the things people come up with when riding high from a W. Equally amazing is the black plague and over reaction that sets in when they lose.
